The majority of rural roads are labeled FM(number) such as FM2173. It took us awhile to discover that FM stands for Farm to Market road. Further west the roads are RM roads which stands for Ranch to Market roads. The drivers are very courteous and patient. It is very rare to hear a honking horn and if a driver gets confused about which way to turn or which road to take, the other drivers hold back quietly until they have it sorted out.
