An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. And the installers might have to deal with my English-only husband. This shall be interesting if I have to go to class and leave him to the insstallers. And a quick self-promotion (because I just can't help myself), I signed up for a "Dream Photo Shoot" contest. I got the link from The Daily Coyote. Click the badge below and read my dream. And if you are inclined to do so, a vote would be very much appreciated! Okay, back to work. While I would ...

Chino Goes To Japan: January 2009
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. Control Gifu and You Control Japan. As much as this blog is supposed to be writing reviews and such about the available self-study Japanese websites out there on the tubes, I'm still trying to find my voice by talking about work and work-related subjects. I've talked about Hop Step Jump, Hop Step Jump events (student-run and company-run), and Learn-Japan. All the photos I've posted so far have been work-related. I've been all work, work, work.

Chino Goes To Japan: Oh hey, it's been four months!
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2012/07/oh-hey-its-been-four-months.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. Oh hey, it's been four months! I swear, I am still alive. Seriously, I am. Just busy as all hell. Yeah The job is just that awesome. I had to have $550 taken out of my paycheck every month to pay back what went over the relocation allowance they had already established, but as they also give me $550 a month to cover rent on top. Of my paycheck, I am not complaining. Unfortunately, my camera batteries died, and my extra pack weren't charged. ...

Chino Goes To Japan: October 2009
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. I know it's a few months early, but I'm going to get one of my New Year's resolutions out into the open now:. Never promise to have an update later in the week ever again. Seems like every time I promise to update this later in the week or within the next week, it ends up being months. A strange, twisted amendment to Murphy's Law? Who knows. Perhaps if I stop promising, I'll actually end up posting regularly. We can only hope. To view the site.

Chino Goes To Japan: Oh, wait, is this actually a post?
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2012/03/oh-wait-is-this-actually-post.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. Oh, wait, is this actually a post? Holy cow, stop the presses. Chino is actually making a blog post. For the first time in over two years. Yeah It's about time. There are several reasons for the untimely death of this blog. The main being a big misunderstanding between my boss and I as to what counts as "on the clock hours" and ". However, that will be behind me starting from the 23rd of this month. I got a new job. In creating a curriculum....

Chino Goes To Japan: June 2009
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. It's Thursday and here I am with another blog, just like I said I would! Amazing, isn't it? Anyway, as I'm between classes today, I don't have that much time to write any long, detailed reviews of intensive learning websites. So instead, I'm going to offer up a website that's geared more towards intermediate and advanced learners of Japanese, but can also be utilized by beginners just starting out who want more practice. The site is Lang-8.

Chino Goes To Japan: A Day at Hiroshima Castle
http://chinogoestojapan.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-day-at-hiroshima-castle.html
An American in Japan's view of Japan and learning Japanese. A Day at Hiroshima Castle. Two whole posts in a single week! How many people want to bet that this never happens again? Let's talk about Hiroshima. As I mentioned months. Since getting here, my husband and I have made an effort to get more acquainted with Hiroshima City in general. Gifu was not nearly as big of a city, and it cost nearly twice as much to get down to Nagoya City so we never really explored as much as we probably should have.
