I AM HOPEFUL AND CALM | Hungary for Transformation
https://hungaryfortransformation.wordpress.com/2016/08/14/i-am-hopeful-and-calm
Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. I AM HOPEFUL AND CALM. August 14, 2016. Alexandra picked me up in the early evening to head south of the city to Leptokarya where the church has a camp. She showed me around the campground by the sea that hosts different groups of kids year-round and then we headed to the beach just across the street. It’s been four years since I’ve been in the sweet waters of the Aegean and it felt so good to be back. STRIKING SONGS AND STORIES.

Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. FINALLY FEELING AT HOME. January 27, 2016. I remember the moment quite clearly, the instant in which I finally felt at home at St. Columba’s Scottish Mission, the church I attend weekly and also volunteer at multiple days a week. And yet none of those moments felt like home. Somehow, while I was still comfortable here, it didn’t feel the same. After finishing with the christmas holidays though I was exhausted and looking to fee...

Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. A JOURNEY OF REUNIFICATION. August 12, 2016. The two began their journey from Syria in order to reunite with their four sons three of whom are in Germany and one is in Austria. Due to the dangers posed by the warring factions in Syria, and their insistence on forcing all able-bodied men to fight with them or be killed, the boys had to flee the country in order to stay alive. From there, the youngest son and two of the older one...

Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. October 19, 2016. It seems insane to think that I’m already half-way through my two-year stint in Hungary where did the time go! My year in Budapest has been filled with ups and downs and a ton of traveling. I have struggled and come out victorious, learning more about myself and my community here in Budapest along the way. To all the opportunities that come my way. I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring! You are com...

Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. December 2, 2015. For me, this realization is crucial in seeing the differences between serving as a Global Missions Intern. I’ve learned that Hungarian’s tend to be high context. And low content, meaning that general ideas are communicated while specific details are left unsaid and I may have to ask a few times to get all the information that I need! 3 thoughts on “ TRUE PARTNERSHIP. Dimitrios drove a Syrian couple there for their appointment and they let me tag along; it ended up lasting from 6:45am until around 3pm. MY FIRST DAY ON THE GROUND. A JOURNEY OF REUNIFICATION. REFUGE | Hungary for Transformation
https://hungaryfortransformation.wordpress.com/2016/02/21/refuge/comment-page-1
Following the transformation of a global mission intern in budapest, hungary. February 21, 2016. Living in Budapest is not easy. The work I do, the isolation and loneliness I sometimes feel, and the language that I do not understand all makes for some rough days. What keeps me going here, though, is the sense of calling that I feel to be here. I find refuge in the clear sense of purpose that I feel in this place. My calling to be here isn’t always easy. In fact, some days it’s insanely hard and it ch...
