April | 2008 | RevGuy\'s Ramblings
https://revguy.wordpress.com/2008/04
RevGuy ’s Ramblings. One Guy’s take on ministry and family. Monthly Archives: April 2008. April 21, 2008. Blogging just takes too much time. That is, if you want to do it right. My perfectionism gets in the way more often than not, and I can't bring myself to write a post when I know it's going to be sloppy. Enter the mini-blog. There are a growing number of sites with offerings in this category: twitter. So I decided to go with tumblr. And have put up my own mini-blog. God’s Plan A and Plan B.

RevGuy ’s Ramblings. One Guy’s take on ministry and family. March 5, 2008. Yellow Fever 2 – Vaccine’s Revenge. Can you believe the main reason I haven’t updated this blog since the last entry was because I had a major adverse reaction to the Yellow Fever shot I took? Here we went out of our way to make sure we didn’t get sick, and I end up almost 10 days in bed with a high-grade fever. Go figure. Yellow fever | RevGuy\'s Ramblings
https://revguy.wordpress.com/2008/01/24/yellow-fever
RevGuy ’s Ramblings. One Guy’s take on ministry and family. January 24, 2008. At the beginning of February, we are planning to hold a convention of the national church, the Igreja Luterana Brasileira. In the city of Dourados. Unfortunately, there have been a number of cases of Yellow Fever. I guess we’ll never know for sure if it was worth it, but at least it gives us peace of mind for our trip next week. This entry was posted on Thursday, January 24th, 2008 at 11:07 pm and posted in Journal.

Preach. Teach. Confess.: The Church is Broken
http://preachteachconfess.blogspot.com/2008/12/church-is-broken.html
Preach. Teach. Confess. Tuesday, December 9, 2008. The Church is Broken. Come, Lord Jesus, and fix it. You're scattering the precious Gospel all over the place. Sloppily you give the Gospel to people who may grow cold to it. Carelessly you give it to us so we can twist it and use it to create factions and confusion. You run the risk that we won't trample all over it with our dirty stinky feet thinking it is ours to do with as we please and not the precious pearl from heaven. Amen, Come Lord Jesus. The Ch...

Preach. Teach. Confess.: September 2007
http://preachteachconfess.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Preach. Teach. Confess. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Thy Will Be Done. After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, 'In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.' ". Is sending a missionary to a field hostile to the Gospel good use of what we've been given? Other than God's Word being proclaim...

Preach. Teach. Confess.: November 2007
http://preachteachconfess.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Preach. Teach. Confess. Sunday, November 4, 2007. I will be forever thankful for a gift my brother gave to me, the Bible on Audio CD. Here's why I like it:. I can clean my office and do a devotion at the same time. It forces me to listen to every word, and not skip to the key words nor breeze over the familiar ones. I actually look forward to long drives in the car. I seem to grasp big picture stuff better. It's amazing how the Holy Spirit threads the Bible together. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Journeys in history, faith and life. People You’ve Never Heard Of. Category Archives: Cross Posts. January 26, 2015. I came across this post while looking for something else. I wrote this in 2007, and I was probably giving “The Word” a fresh listen while getting ready to teach on Ezekiel. Although a lot has changed about me since the days when I wrote it, this still resonated with me.). Reluctant ride in the middle of the belly of a whale. A wheel on fire in the middle of the sky. I'm not addressing "the love going cold" that can happen to a person even if they haven't been Christian all their life. Tuesday, December 9, 2008. The Church is Broken. Come, Lord Jesus, and fix it. Preach. Teach. Confess. Friday, December 7, 2007. The Liturgy is Not a Competition. Rev Rick Stuckwisch (LC-MS) wrote an excellent post. Concerning the tension Christians face over their worship practices. It's worth a read. Some of the quotes I liked where:. In fact, I would go so far as to say that, as soon our liturgical practice has become a kind of competition, it has to that same extent become idolatrous. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://preachteachconfess.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Preach. Teach. Confess. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. He was a typical member of a Wisconsin Synod church, as we would like to see him, right? No, he was a pharisee – a composite drawn from such passages of the Bible as Luke 18. Scripture exhorts us to add to our faith virtue, but the way which leads to life is traveled by breast-smiters rather than by finger-pointers. Editorial written by Pastor Immanuel Frey. RevGuy ’s Ramblings. One Guy’s take on ministry and family. September 20, 2011. God’s Plan A and Plan B. The book of Jonah tells us that When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel? September 20, 2011. An excerpt from my sermon. Am I the not one who fed 5000 men with five loaves of bread and a couple of fish? Metaphysical Bible
Sunday, November 1, 2009. Song of Solomon- -Kings. Thanks class for all the great writings and insights you have all posted for this wonderful class. This has been a tremendous experience for me as I am sure it has been for everyone in the class. Thank You Rev. Guy Williams for your insight and dedication to the Hebrew Bible and sharing it with us in such a delightful way. Isn’t this just a love song/poem? How does one find passion in something that is so dry? Take me to the construction of the temple!
