It is always sad when a dispute cannot be resolved by peaceful means. The earliest Christian tradition was one of strict pacifism, but as Christianity became more widespread, and especially following the conversion of Constantine in 312, Christians recognised that there might be occasions when war was necessary. War must be waged for a just cause.

Sunday, 26 September 2010. NBC Pastoral Letter October 2010. The summer gives us a chance to relax a bit and enjoy God’s creation. With fewer church meetings during August, and possibilities of time off work, we can take the chance to rest and restore. For us as a family August works well for this, having two school-aged children. Before we had kids we used to holiday in June or October. This year more people came from NBC than last year, and we had a good opportunity to get to know one another better.

Out of the whole list of men, there are four women who are mentioned in Matthew chapter 1. (I suppose five if you include Mary.).
