HIPAA Compliance Deadline Sept. 23, 2014. Last year, HHS modified the HIPAA privacy rules requiring Business Associate Agreements to be in place by September 23, 2014. This ruling applies to all Covered Entities – if you are a physician or healthcare provider, this applies to YOU. The Business Associate Agreement needs to have the latest legal language in it, so if your agreements are older than January 25, 2013, you will need to have them resigned by all of your Business Associates.
