I have noticed that it is happening to me at a much more accelerated rate than I thought possible. I wear smock aprons in vintage fabrics when I cook. At first I bought them because they evoked a bygone era and seemed retro-chic. I'll just hang these in my kitchen for decoration. My kids have to ask me to stop.

Maybe things have changed since I lived there eleven years ago, but back in 2001 taxis were cheap, ubiquitous, easy, and safe. I never felt lost or afraid (except when I went to Ancient Culture Street after hours. Because I knew I could always hop on a taxi, say the name of my apartment complex (or better yet flash the card with the Chinese on it) and go home.
