Rhetorically Correct: February 2010

This is my rhetorical space. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to go elsewhere. In that rhetoric calls for a dialogical approach, it is most appropriate to provide both an encomium and an invective to the subject. Thursday, February 18, 2010. Hey, Pass Me Your Answers! INTENTION: Most of the time when students commit academic dishonesty, they are not thinking of the consequences or the atrocity of their actions. They simply want the easy way out, as they are taught from an early age. REJECTION OF P...

This is my rhetorical space. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to go elsewhere. Non-citizen Suffrage to Cause Citizen Sufferage? After weeks of sitting in a summer political science course, something actually captured my attention. No, it wasn’t a riveting section of game theory or an argument for the necessity of a bicameral legislature – it was a real live rhetorical fail. Where do we have to draw the line? Is that the line? What about when noncitizens start to take political office? What happens...

This is my rhetorical space. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to go elsewhere. To: Dr. Euthanasia. I saw you speak last Thursday about putting old people to sleep. What’s the word for that? Anyways, I think your argument sucked. How can you possibly say that we should just kill all the old people in hospitals and nursing homes? Did you think about what this would do to someone like me – someone who actually cares about other people? Did you notice lack of/problems with:. Thursday, March 04, 2010.

This is my rhetorical space. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to go elsewhere. This intimidating (and also creepy) phrase is printed on a sheet of paper on the billboard in Life Science Room 117. What exactly does that mean to you? If someone were watching your every move, or at least, every thing you did on the Internet would that change what you were doing? And if you had the chance, would you take up the opportunity to be the one watching? Definition: "If you put spyware on your computer, you h...

This blog is for my favorite class, English 304 at Colorado State University - Pueblo! Thursday, March 4, 2010. Thursday, March 4, 2010. An appeal to anger:. You did everything right. You asked relevant questions, you met with your professor for help, you studied for 4 hours every night for two weeks. When you went to take that test you were confident in your ability to do well and you were sure that you secured that A. You answered every question carefully and paid much attention to detail. Is That a Rh...

This blog is for my favorite class, English 304 at Colorado State University - Pueblo! Thursday, March 4, 2010. Thursday, March 4, 2010. So the other day I was at work when whats her name started started talking and she would not shut up. She was talking about her love of the environment and how much the office sucks about recycling and all that crap. She was like criticizing us for not being like her. How fair is that? Why should we be lectured when its her fault in the first place that she has to judge.

Kleos: Common-Place Cheating
http://kleoshannahromero.blogspot.com/2010/02/common-place-cheating.html
This blog is for my favorite class, English 304 at Colorado State University - Pueblo! Thursday, February 4, 2010. Thursday, February 4, 2010. Cheating in not accepted in an academic setting. This holds true from kindergarten all the way through college. In college, though, students receive much harsher punishment if they are found cheating. When a student cheats on a test or paper, it is as if they are showing their professor that they have not ethics and morals, and that they do not respect authority.

This blog is for my favorite class, English 304 at Colorado State University - Pueblo! Thursday, February 18, 2010. Thursday, February 18, 2010. I remember when I was first asked the definition of the word “rhetoric”. I was only a freshman in Composition 102 and I had no idea what it meant. The best I could come up with was that it was the “fluff” that politicians used to make people vote for them. It is a beautiful thing as well. Have you ever been taken back by a speech given by a true rhetorician?
