Hian has been a clarinettist for 18 years. With her musical interest begining early on in life she started singing at just 4 years old. Moving from singing onto learning the recorder at 5, she wanted something more advanced again to get her teeth into. This is where she discovered the clarinet at 8, and where she has found her love of music reacquainted through the repertoire she has devoured over the years.

The research undertaken has been ongoing since 1997 when I worked on a European funded project about the local textile industry.
