How I Got My Corset Mojo Back for Sewcialists Lingerie Month. Sorry for being a bit quiet the last couple of weeks but I have been working like crazy and away again so there has been no time at all for proper sewing. I also have a big work decision to make but more on that later. But it will probably take me a bit longer. Still a few spaces on the back ...

Spring Break Beach Vacation | Sew Not Work
https://sewnotwork.wordpress.com/2015/03/21/spring-break-beach-vacation
Sewing projects, crafts, and other pursuits. Spring Break Beach Vacation. March 21, 2015. Middot; by sewnotwork. For my next project requiring binding. We were in Florida for a week of sun, sand, and shells. The weather was incredible and we had a wonderful time on the beach. We found lots of shells and creatures too. When we got home we made shell magnets. We used these super strong neodynium magnets. The magnets are very strong but if the smack together, they can break. Hope you all are enjoying Spring!

Diary of a Fabric Junkie. The ‘long weekend’ brought lots and lots of things – mostly fabric! I had my first experience at an IKEA this weekend and all I bought was this fabric! I couldn’t resist – I’m totally attracted to face prints plus it’s wonderfully colorful and a great home decor weight. I’m thinking this will make a fabulous statement bag, I just need to find the right pattern that shows off the print. Here’s what was in my bundle (all are one yard cuts):. This will become sleeves on a shirt tha...

House of Frillymingoe: January 2014
http://houseoffrillymingoe.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
My adventures into sewing, dressmaking and pattern cutting. Saturday, 25 January 2014. Satin Top for Miss FM and some lessons learnt. Miss FM was recently invited to the batmizvah of her best friend's sister (ya with me so far? Now,the dress code for this was "posh frock" which sent Miss FM (and not to mention me) into a tail spin. Why? I then realised that my pattern was the wrong style to make into a top and searched around and came across Burdastyle 09/2012 #150. Adapt to a top. To make the sleeve adj...

House of Frillymingoe: Things to think about when sewing
http://houseoffrillymingoe.blogspot.com/2014/02/things-to-think-about-when-sewing.html
My adventures into sewing, dressmaking and pattern cutting. Saturday, 22 February 2014. Things to think about when sewing. A friend recently asked me to help her make a skirt. Well actually, she asked me to make it, but I persuaded her to have a go. So I was putting together a little pack of instructions and it got me thinking about some things you need to think about when making clothes and I thought I'd put together my little list here for you all. Do you want your clothing to be lined? Don't be afraid...

House of Frillymingoe: November 2013
http://houseoffrillymingoe.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
My adventures into sewing, dressmaking and pattern cutting. Thursday, 21 November 2013. Long time, no see! Well, 3 posts do not a blog make (which I have shamelessy pinched from the blog of a fellow forumite! I pinned it diagonally around the seam allowance. It was better but I still wasn't convinced. In the pattern, the hemline is supposed to be elasticated but I skipped that as it probably isn't wide enough to gather and it could do with being a bit longer it I were to gather it. I started stitching, h...

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Olive, Wine and Gold join A Common Wardrobe, warm tones for summer. In honor of the season (in the Northern Hemisphere) of the ripening of all delicious things, I give you the "Tuscan inspired" wine, olives, and gold that was sent to me a few days ago. And yes, I did choose that bracelet because it reminded me of olive trees and grape vines. Earrings – Alexis Bittar. Tee – J. Crew. 8211; Janna Conner. SewWest: Drape Front Cardigan Patterns
http://sewwest.blogspot.com/2007/01/drape-front-cardigan-patterns.html
Sewing and life in the high desert burbs of Albuquerque, NM. Monday, January 8, 2007. Drape Front Cardigan Patterns. I had a request from kelly asking about some patterns that could be used with sweater knits. Since I mentioned in my last posting that patterns similar to my RTW drape front cardigan were currently available, I decided to post a few:. It would be perfect in knit. McCall's 5241. If you shortened it some, it would be close to the Coldwater Creek sweater. I've seen a lot of similar styles in ...
