http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. It's been four weeks since we walked into the doctors office and discovered that Nico's heart had stopped beating. Friday, August 5, 2011. How do I begin to say goodbye to my son, Nico? I don't know how or if I'll continue here. My heart is so broken, I have no words to express what I feel right now. Love sorrow. She is yours now, and you must. Take care of what has been. Then you would be. I am a ...

Desert Laura: The past 38 weeks...
http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-past-38-weeks.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. The past 38 weeks. This has been a beautiful pregnancy and I love being pregnant. I love my body, my belly, my big legs. I love that I've gained 30 pounds to grow this little being inside of me. I appreciate and am comforted that our little girl is nestled in the same space that held Nico for 30 weeks. Wish me luck as I prepare for a brand new adventure! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Desert Laura: Bits of gratitide amidst many tears
http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2011/12/bits-of-gratitide-amidst-many-tears.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Friday, December 2, 2011. Bits of gratitide amidst many tears. Still walking and working and living and breathing and sometimes even laughing. I can go back to that day and the days prior like it was just yesterday and I'm flooded with the same feelings of sadness and grief. We have a long journey ahead of us, but we're getting there. What goodness is there in my life to be thankful for right now? I know that my sufferings ...

Desert Laura: Sewing 101
http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2012/03/sewing-101.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Holy moly, I've decided to take a sewing class! Not a simple, Senior Center sewing class taught by nice elder ladies who love to sew. Nope, a full semester of sewing 101 at a community college with "kids" about 20 years younger than me (now. Makes me feel old! Now, I know what a needle and bobbin are (I'm not that uneducated in sewing lingo). But where do I start? 65279; . Yup Not exactly digital,...

Desert Laura: Joy and Sorrow
http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2011/09/joy-and-sorrow.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Thursday, September 1, 2011. Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Some of you say, 'Joy is greater than sorrow,' and others say, 'Nay, sorrow is the greater.' But I say unto you, they are inseparable. 8211; Kahlil Gibran.

Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Be born on this day. That he has already come and gone. Yet the anticipation is still there. It's like my mind still going through the motions of planning/preparing for a birth that will never be/already happened. It was a beautiful day, and I remember my little Nico and our dreams and hopes and wishes that forever stay with me. Labels: journal.ish stuff. October 17, 2011 at 1:59 PM.

Desert Laura: To-do list...revised
http://desertlaura.blogspot.com/2011/09/to-do-listrevised.html
Why do I live in the desert? Because the desert is the locus Dei. - Edward Abbey. Tuesday, September 6, 2011. We painted a room this weekend. And put together a bed. Only difference is that we painted our bedroom instead of a baby room, and put together a new queen size bed instead of a crib. That's all.this doesn't get any easier. I just want you to know that I think about you so, so often. I pray for your peace, but everyone who knows you knows that you are not short on strength. Hugs.
