Sublime Shambles of a Shell: December 2010
http://siblimeshamblesofashell.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sublime Shambles of a Shell. Thursday, December 23, 2010. I was recently inspired by The Nut free-Mom blog to make these cookies. Jenny created these cookies from her grandmother's recipe that used a large portion of ground pecans. Her Daughter has anaphylaxis to nuts like my Declan, so after searching through cookbooks she found a similar cookie- a Greek cookie called Kourambiethes. Here is Jenny's recipe below:. Note: I halved the recipe and it still made 20-30 cookies! Confectioners sugar= icing sugar.

Something I Whipped Up. Pay It Forward Project 2011. Sunday, April 1, 2012. Sweet Mustard Pickles (Or "What do I do with a Giant Zucchini? As we were talking, the mum said she had something for me. She had won an Easter raffle and sitting in the basket of eggs and chocolates was a giant golden zucchini! She knows that I love to cook and was certain that I would be able to find a use for it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it; it was enormous and so very heavy! It was super easy, with not too many i...

Something I Whipped Up. Pay It Forward Project 2011. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. We have been onboard our cruise ship, Celebrity Century, for 9 nights so far and it is amazing. My SH and I have been on 5 cruises now, working our way up from the boozy cruise of our honeymoon on the Fairstar in 1996 (they didn’t call it the “Fun Ship” for nothing! Anyway, enough of all that; this is a food blog! Enjoying dinner at the Murano restaurant. SH has foie gras and I have the escargot. This was a 4 hour event, th...

Something I Whipped Up. Pay It Forward Project 2011. Thursday, February 28, 2013. Make-Up Bags, Birthday Cakes and Trying New Things. I also painted a placemat set for my nephew's second birthday. Today's baking was inspired by the many patterned Swiss Roll cakes that I have been seeing on Facebook lately. Some of the designs are amazing! I used the recipe and instructions that I found on Rosie Cake-Diva. The baked Swiss Roll (inside view). My polka dots are a little dodgy. Not bad for my first Swiss Roll.

Something I Whipped Up: Where has time gone?
http://somethingiwhippedup.blogspot.com/2012/09/where-has-time-gone.html
Something I Whipped Up. Pay It Forward Project 2011. Sunday, September 30, 2012. Where has time gone? It's been a long time since my last post, but I have an excuse. I've been busy! I've come to realise that having a house full of preschoolers each day is not conducive to doing much of anything creatively. Having said that, I have tried various smaller projects over that time. I wanted to make a clock for her room in the design of a Snitch. Base coat with gold paint. Place outlines and add shading. There...

Something I Whipped Up: DIY Ceiling Light Shade
http://somethingiwhippedup.blogspot.com/2012/03/diy-ceiling-light-shade.html
Something I Whipped Up. Pay It Forward Project 2011. Friday, March 9, 2012. DIY Ceiling Light Shade. I have been spending some time online recently, researching DIY sites to figure out how to make my own ceiling light shades. I am impressed with the amount of information there is out there. There are some seriously talented people! It was a tacky terracotta colour, but I looked beyond that to the perfect frame underneath. The original shade - yucky terracotta!
