Safety Valve: January 2011
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Monday, 3 January 2011. Edit: since the redhoterlang.org blog is now defunct, I have republished the text here. As mentioned in my previous post, I did some work this summer with manipulating Subversion dump files using Erlang. I've written a probably way too long text about this for the RedHotErlang. Blog maintained by my friend and colleague, the legendary Tobbe T. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Safety Valve: Yosemite
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2009/06/yosemite.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Wednesday, 3 June 2009. When I planned my trip to California for the Erlang Factory conference, I followed a friend's advice and set aside a couple of days to go and see Yosemite Valley. But it's not until now that I'm done going through the lot of them (discarding more than half), so I've waited with writing about the trip. I took. I started out around 10 in the morning, was up on the top at midday, and got back down again at four, very tired but happy. Edit: since the red...

Safety Valve: Rewriting history in Subversion with the help of Erlang
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2013/12/rewriting-history-in-subversion-with.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Monday, 30 December 2013. Rewriting history in Subversion with the help of Erlang. Our development department at Klarna. There are a few tricks you can try in this case: some discard the history, and some call for manual tweaking of svn:mergeinfo. Neither is good, and both require time and effort by a local Subversion master. The first few thousand commits came from CVS, via cvs2svn. A good Subversion dumpfile filtering tool had to be able to:. Read dumpfiles, as created by...

Safety Valve: January 2009
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Thursday, 29 January 2009. Spring break: the bad kind. Our car is just 5 years old, and has had no problems at all so far, but two weeks ago something weird suddenly happened. When you made a sharp turn, upwards of 90 degrees right or left, there was a sound as if a coil was being stretched, until it abrubtly went "goioinggg! Links to this post. Monday, 26 January 2009. As I wrote in a previous post. Links to this post. Tuesday, 6 January 2009. While reading yet another boo...

Safety Valve: November 2008
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Monday, 17 November 2008. Museum of modern art (and its spectacular garden), and had an incredibly good meal at restaurant Koefoed. Which specializes on food from the island of Bornholm, known for its great climate and high-quality produce. (It's also the kind of place where you just hand the waiter your credit card and don't look at the bill until later. Much later.). I took a rather nice set of pictures that can be viewed here. Safety Valve: June 2009
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Monday, 22 June 2009. While midsummer eve was as cold and foggy as any I can remember, these following days have been beautiful. The winds are still a bit chilly, which can be deceptive since it makes you forget how much sun you're actually exposing your poor skin to. I spent most of a day mowing the grass around the house, and got myself a really superb redneck tan. Links to this post. Wednesday, 3 June 2009. Less than 100 meters away, I'm sure it was quite aware of me, bu...

Safety Valve: December 2010
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Thursday, 23 December 2010. It's been a long time. Wow - I've not updated the blog for a year and a half. Amazing how writing a book. Can turn you off all other kinds of written expression (apart from the odd Tweet). The book's been out for a month now and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. But following the release, I haven't had the energy to do anything creative when I get home after work, so I've just been playing video games and, well, not writing. Tunnel like hal...

Safety Valve: SF and Alcatraz
http://richardcarlsson.blogspot.com/2009/05/sf-and-alcatraz.html
Now I have a blog. Ho, ho, ho! Saturday, 16 May 2009. A couple of weeks ago, I went to San Francisco for the Bay Area Erlang Factory. The conference was great, but I also took a few days off to be able to do some touristy things on my own first (not to mention working off the 9 hour jet lag). I had a lazy sunday in SF and took the opportunity to visit Alcatraz for the first time. I was really lucky with the weather and took a whole bunch of photos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
