Richard Hoit Freelance Illustrator. Based in New Zealand, I have been illustrating children’s books for over twenty years now. Studying art and art history, I have had a passion for drawing and painting all my life. Over the years I have worked on a wide range of projects from illustration work to posters, blankets and cookie tins. However my career has gone from strength to strength working fulltime on children’s books, magazines, educational publishing and picture books.

I have a keen interest in text development and adaptation for the stage. My degree was in Art Histroy and Performance Art although i have also trained as an Actor at Actorworks Drama School. I like to fully immerse myself in both production and performance roles. I'm currently working between Italy and London on various projects. I am also the co-founder of Storycycle Theatre Company.
