Our volunteers take care to make each meal special, serving such specialties as Chicken Divan, Shepherd's Pie, Lasagna and Crab Tortellini, so that no one feels 'second class.' Traditional holiday fare is served on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We wish to thank the following wonderful churches and groups who provide meals each month. We also thank the many companies, groups and individuals who come to serve the meals for our lunch providers. We couldn’t do it without you! West End Assembly of God.

We provide a nutritious, hearty lunch seven days a week through three program sites around the Richmond community. Click here for daily lunch locations. Bull; Clothing and shoes. Bull; Back to school supplies. Bull; Book bags/Backpacks. Bull; Vacation Bible School each summer. Bull; Gym shorts for children who would fail physical education without them. Bull; Money for school field trips. Bull; Mentoring program that follows school attendance, report cards, and homework.

How You Can Help. There are a number of ways you can become "Friend of the Homeless" in south Richmond:. 1 Make a financial contribution on a regular basis to support our ongoing work. 2 Become a part of a group-or organize one-to prepare and serve a hot lunch once a month. 3 Invite the Executive Director to speak to your civic club or Sunday School classess. 4 Volunteer your time and skills for holiday children's parties. 5 Learn about other ways you can make a difference in a child's life.

It was Thanksgiving of 1986. My freezer was stuffed with three turkeys my family had received from various businesses. I was delighted to hear a minister announce on TV that he was in desperate need of food for a Thanksgiving meal he was trying to prepare for the homeless. What a great way to get rid of those turkeys.
