Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: Preserving Herbs
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/03/preserving-herbs.html
Wednesday, March 16, 2011. I ordered some rosemary and thyme and garlic this week from Fresh Direct. They always give a nice bunch, but they use these crappy vented bags which essentially render the herbs useless within a day or 2. Less than a day for delicate herbs. Have you done anything to preserve cut herbs for use in the future? Chez LaFleur in Manhattan. Blue Ribbon of Onion Soup Contest. Mid Town West Dining. For the love of cooking. I'm a Sleeper Baker. Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: November 2010
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. Thanksgiving on Indian Lake. Sunrise Thanksgiving morning - lots to be thankful and grateful for. Rick believes there is a Turkey Protection Program here in South Padre - these Turkeys are in costume. Mushrooms - just out of the oven. Pretty gosh darn tasty! This is a random Indian Lake bean bag game with variable rules. Tom and Aggie seem to like it though :D. Dinner with a whole lotta Indian Lakers. Some really amazing dishes at this pot luck! Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: September 2010
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. I was perusing food blogs today, loving all the "classics" on the project food blog, and I came upon a blog which posted about Pam Anderson's Perfect One-Dish Dinners. That post inspired this post - I haven't read the book, but wanted to mention it because it was so highly recommended. Here are the ingredients:. 1 lb sausage (I used chicken sausage here, but I would definitely change to sweet italian sausage next time). 1 large onion cut in 1 - 1.5" chunks. 3 T olive oil.

Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: The Silver Leaf Tavern, a relaxing afterwork locale
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010/03/silver-leaf-tavern-relaxing-afterwork.html
Wednesday, March 24, 2010. The Silver Leaf Tavern, a relaxing afterwork locale. I got off the bus after riding for quite a while yesterday - the rain made it pretty depressing, and since I didn't sleep, it was long. Rick called just as he was about to leave work to kindly offer to meet somewhere after for a cocktail, even though he was not in the mood. I was tired enough that I took him up on it. Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: Rick's Pineapple and Ham Appetizer
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/03/ricks-pineapple-and-ham-appetizer.html
Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Rick's Pineapple and Ham Appetizer. Rick had the idea the other night to have pineapple wrapped in ham - sweet and salty - one of my favorite combinations. I was shopping on the Fresh Direct web site (oh grocery delivery is a true gift of living in NYC) and I saw that capicola and thought, what the heck? I'd never tasted hot capicola ham before, so for that reason alone I had to order a bit. Now, if you haven't had hot capicola ham either, it is SPICY! Chez LaFleur in Manhattan.

Suzette Anna (King) LaFleur, author of this blog and my loving wife, unexpectedly passed away on May 9th, 2011. Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: Amaretto Pear Crisp
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/03/amaretto-pear-crisp.html
Monday, March 21, 2011. Doesn't that close up look so delicious? The caramelization on the side of the baking dish, the whole rolled oats, and the peary sweet juice between the lumps of fruit. OK - yeah, I'm tooting my own horn, but I was feeling extra inspiration today - not allowing Rick's software implementation get in my way - haha! Here are the ingredients:. 4 incredibly ripe bartlett pears, cored, chopped with skin on. 1/2 a stick of salted butter (1/4 C). 1/3 C light brown sugar. 1/4 t all spice.

Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: Tequila Suzee
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/03/tequila-suzee.html
Saturday, March 19, 2011. I'm always looking for a new cocktail that uses ingredients that I like to keep at home, and the Tequila Suzee is right up my alley :). Add 1 part white tequila (I like Hornitos). 2 parts fresh grapefruit juice (or the Tropicana with pulp). A teaspoon of sugar. And a grapefruit twist. Shake it all with ice and serve in 2 pretty glasses. I like to add the ice I had in the shaker too! What are your favorite flavors to add to tequila? Chez LaFleur in Manhattan. Mid Town West Dining.

Chez LaFleur in Manhattan: June 2010
http://chezlafleurinmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 17, 2010. Ruthie Foster in Madison Sq Park. Tonight I went out for the free concert Ruthie Foster. Played at Madison Square Park. And all the tables and chairs were filled with people eating and drinking, and then extra seating in front of the stage was for blankets for people to bring picnics - just like Prescott Park in Portsmouth! Versions of "Joy" and "Death Came a Knockin'" arranged by Cheryl Lynn Stromski for the group. I'm proud of me for being relatively quiet :). As the most gospe...
