i82much: My DIY Project
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-diy-project.html
We've had these kitchen chairs for donkey's years. The seat is made of a woven rush material, which gives a little when you sit and is quite comfortable. A close up look:. Though a little worn after about 20 years or so, three of the six, however, look like this. They were not damaged through normal wear and tear - little fingers have been doing the dirty work. How can I break the fingers of a cutie like that? We also looked for chair weavers to repair the seats, but there were no takers. The thing is my...

i82much: Another DIY Furniture Project
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/another-diy-furniture-project.html
Another DIY Furniture Project. It all started when I was cycling home and saw that one of my neighbours had chucked out a magnificent doll's house for garbage collection. I have mentioned before, I think, that several times a year, the council organises extraordinary garbage collections for household stuff too big to fit into the normal wheelie bins. Back to the doll's house - it stands chest high and I took it home for granddaughter A. Then, one day, grandma C went shopping and spotted these:. Over here...

i82much: A Look Upwards
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-look-upwards.html
Flem and I must have walked past this dead tree in the local dog park (which even has its own Facebook page. And I had never thought of looking up at it. Something made me do so the other day, and I saw this beautiful bee hive nestled in the hollow of a branch, right above my head. Another dog owner told me it's been there for years. And when I eventually looked down, there was this friendly fellow at my feet, waiting to say hello and wanting a pat on the head. Only price is a few stings. After I saw the...

i82much: A New Skill Learnt
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-new-skill-learnt.html
A New Skill Learnt. A skill old to us, but new to him. He also stars in this little family portrait. And finally, big sister has to wear glasses. He fell. LOL! Time to move everything up higher.our of his reach! Kids tend to need glasses earlier these days - with all the electronic stuff around them, my girl was no exception. I am so blessed - even at my age, I do not need glasses, never needed any. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Old Buggers with Blogs. Kans On The Road. From Post to Post.

i82much: Fish, Fish and more Fish
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/fish-fish-and-more-fish.html
Fish, Fish and more Fish. I was rather dismayed to come across a news report last weekend regarding arson at the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes, as C and I had visited it a couple of years ago as part of C's pilgrimage to the Holy Land. You can read about it here. If I hadn't visited, I would have most likely missed the story altogether. Here are some photos I took. Another shot including the koi pond. A couple more fifth century mosaics:. This is supposed to be the spot where Jesus la...

i82much: Starving 'em to Death
http://i82muchblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/starving-em-to-death.html
Starving 'em to Death. The day was coldish but sunny, so we took little B out to the front yard for his lunch. Here he is, finishing up with his banana. The DIL came a little later for him, and wanted to know what's with all the black plastic in the front yard. I'm starving the winter weeds, which sprouted up with the first rains, depriving them of sunlight and preventing photosynthesis. I just shift the black plastic around every couple of weeks. But don't that kill the lawn, you ask me. We are loath to...
