Beyond Fatigue: October 2013
http://irun4pain.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 23, 2013. I headed into Sunday’s USATF 50 Mile Road National Championship, hosted by the Tussey Mountainback 50 miler. Last year, when I was 39.5 years old, I ran a 22 minute PR at the 50 mile distance in 6hr11min. I was pretty stoked with that effort, as I ran with Brian Rusiecki. For the majority of the race, only to stumble with about 12 miles to go. Leading up to that race, I had spent the majority of my time training for the Grindstone 100 miler. Dodging deer and fallen branches.

How We Roll: Katie's Blog About Marathoning and Mothering. A Typical Training Week. Thursday, April 9, 2015. Fleet Feet Racing Team Meeting. It meant a lot that she'd included them. Then the team went on to give out an award for best poster, and they chose my kids' poster to win (if you know my daughter, she is so competitive so she just lit up when they announced this). Just the fact that they'd included my family and made them feel welcome and not unwanted was so. Susi with my big kids. Rick, Doris Bro...

How We Roll: Katie's Blog About Marathoning and Mothering. A Typical Training Week. Katie (with husband, Rick, to the far right). Half of the states we've completed have been done after our first 2 children were born. We've creatively sought ways to visit family/take babysitters on trips to allow our entire young family to see the country on these marathon trips, though we did take a solo trip to run Maui, Hawaii for our 5th anniversary! How We Roll: Katie's Blog About Marathoning and Mothering. A Typical Training Week. Friday, March 20, 2015. I love reading our Huntsville Track Club newsletter. It's fun to see your name in print. Yes, they still mail it out and don't just put it online. I love this because I save them all! I usually appear in some race results in the newsletters, but last time I was pictured twice in the January/February issue. I have a huge grin on my face since I was so excited! We were so surprised to get this award!

How We Roll: Katie's Blog About Marathoning and Mothering. A Typical Training Week. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Saturday, March 28, 2015. I got up at 5 am and showered and nursed the baby. I was actually a little sad that this will be my last long race while having a nursling. I've gotten used to the routine of our pre-race snuggles. They calm me. I had one thing going for me- I had run a half marathon two weeks ago. I knew I could handle the distance, but trail races are not the same as road races! As far a...
