Travel Ontario by Motorcycle: August 2010
http://travelontariobymotorcycle.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Monday, August 23, 2010. Ottawa - Days 8 and 9. After our very soggy - wet 370 KM ride in to Ottawa we got to our hotel in West Kanata - 3.5 hours later that we wanted to - but we arrived in one piece! I really - really love the patio doors - man I can't express how easy unloading and loading back up is because of them! Again - tourism information is available in abundance. Comfort Inn - West Kanata.

Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Saturday, September 17, 2011. Sudbury to Sault Ste Marie. I left the Super 8 Sudbury under glorious sunshine and as I rode along, it was with a sense of anticipation. I took the turn off to Espanola and went to the Tim Horton’s, sure enough I ran in to a local who told me the directions to one of his favourite little loops that would bring me back out on the highway before Elliot Lake. I took in the museu...

Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Saturday, September 17, 2011. From New Brunswick to Sudbury. Day 34 of the Conga was a riding day, an 820 Kilometre ride from Grand Falls NB! The ride had been a hot one, filled with drivers that had short tempers and I am sure heat stroke because I witnessed some really silly stuff out there! At three in the morning I had a wonderful surprise. Cookie and Tim were here, at my room and they were going ...

Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Saturday, September 17, 2011. Thunder Bay to Winnipeg, the senic route. I left Thunder Bay nice and early. I wanted to get in to Winnipeg at a decent time but I also wanted to see something different too. I wanted to ride a different road than Highway 17. The weather was beautiful and I had decided I was going to get to my destination via Mom’s Choice Highway – Highway 11. What a beautiful road! The highw...

Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Saturday, September 17, 2011. Sault Ste Marie to Thunder Bay. Water front in Sault Ste Marie. I never get tired of the water front in Sault Ste Marie, and even though this was a day of steady riding, I still took some time to go for a walk. As I left the Soo it was sunny and warm but 120 Kms later the story would change. After a two hour wait the rain settled down to a drizzle. I pulled in to the NorWeste...

A German tourist named Michael, the Ratbiker. While there I met a German tourist named Michael AKA Ratbiker. Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Saturday, September 25, 2010. From Dryden to Brandon. We headed out to Brandon - it was cool and over cast but it made for pleasant riding. We stopped in Kenora for mid morning snack at the Timmy's but on the way in we saw this really cool bug. As you can see the dark clouds were looming.we didn't stay long, just long enough to get a few pictures and then it was off to Brandon. Hubby posing with the bug.

Travel Ontario by Motorcycle. Lakes, falls and fabulous rivers make the scenery in Ontario stunning. Friday, September 16, 2011. Barrie to Ottawa - Day 22. At breakfast I was asked if I heard the fire alarm or the thunderstorm and nope – I had not! Heather in the breakfast room asked me about my bike and chatted with me about riding and made sure I knew that wipe down rags and buckets were available. Wenda with the wicked sense of humour! I had the deep pleasure of meeting Nancy O’Halloran, the reg...
