Among My Frivolous Thoughts: December 2011
http://herfrivolousthoughts.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Among My Frivolous Thoughts. Why I am a Christian. Friday, December 30, 2011. Good Guys, Bad Guys. I seen bad men do good things and Ive seen good men do bad things. Sometimes, the good guys do really bad things. For some reason, theyre still good though. I dont know why that is. A bad guy can do as many good things as he wants- had can do good things all day long! But he will still be a bad guy. The hole not made for me. My world is closing in on me. I'm crushed beneath its weight. A hole not made for me.

Family Life in the Garden: The "Ya'll" of being Born Again.
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/yall-of-being-born-again.html
Family Life in the Garden. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The "Ya'll" of being Born Again. This is an article that I wrote for my Fresh Brewed Theology column in The Choteau Acantha. It was published in January of this year. I am posting it here because it pertains to a comment by Tabatha in a recent post, Biblically Defining Eternal Life. Fresh Brewed Theology, January 2012. However, Biblically speaking this may be putting the cart before the horse. Throughout the Bible, God always deals first and foremo...

Family Life in the Garden: On Building Houses
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/on-building-houses.html
Family Life in the Garden. Friday, March 16, 2012. Raising kids is like. There are numerous conclusions to that sentence. Popular parenting books attack it in so many ways. One author said (and I'm paraphrasing) "raising kids is like working with wet cement. You only get so much time and then it is dry and hard." Before I had kids I bought into that type of an idea. I was going to "mold" my kids and shape them. I understood Deuteronomy 6:7-9. As something I had to do to. Can be something that we actually...

Family Life in the Garden: Biblically Defining Eternal Life
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/biblically-defining-eternal-life.html
Family Life in the Garden. Monday, March 5, 2012. Biblically Defining Eternal Life. What is Eternal Life according to the Bible? Have you ever really contemplated that question? Growing up, I was always under the impression that "eternal life" didn't start until after I died. I don't recall actually having been taught that specifically, but it was generally implied by the worldview and culture that I lived in. Yep, just one! It is actually Jesus that defines it for us. Now read John 17 verses 1-3. Eterna...

Family Life in the Garden: Review of "Noah Primeval" by Brian Godawa
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-of-noah-primeval-by-brian-godawa.html
Family Life in the Garden. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Review of "Noah Primeval" by Brian Godawa. I am a big believer in approaching the Biblical narrative as one complete story. If you think about it, story is the most effective way to communicate deep truths over generations of changing cultures and civilizations. No matter how things change as time marches on, the story still portrays it's original message. Recently I had the pleasure of reading Brian Godawa's Noah Primeval. To me, that is great writing.

Family Life in the Garden: Sweet Slumber: Co-Sleeping from a Dad's Perspective
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/co-sleeping.html
Family Life in the Garden. Monday, March 12, 2012. Sweet Slumber: Co-Sleeping from a Dad's Perspective. It's been a long day. My eyes are tired as I crawl into bed. I situate my pillows carefully and gently pull the covers to my chest. As I roll onto my stomach I feel the tiny hand of Hannah come to rest on my back. I lift my arm and slowly feel around for Abram. I hear his heavier, slightly louder breathing so I know it is safe to put my hand on him and connect the chain. However, the best is waking up ...

Family Life in the Garden: February 2012
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Family Life in the Garden. Monday, February 20, 2012. I wrote this article about a year ago for my local paper, The Choteau Acantha. God’s Love Story. What is the Bible? If someone were to come up to you on the street and ask you this question how would you respond? The answer to this question fundamentally affects the way people practically apply their religion. Is the Bible a system of theology? Is it a list of rules to live by for those trying to avoid hell? Is it a 7 step system to health and wealth?

Family Life in the Garden: January 2012
http://familylifeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Family Life in the Garden. Monday, January 30, 2012. I have decided to do an introductory blog later on. Maybe next week. In the meantime, here is the first article that I wrote, about a year ago, for my local newspaper, The Choteau Acantha. The name of my column is "Fresh Brewed Theology" (think coffee or beer, it's your choice! And it runs once a month. Fresh Brewed Theology: Sacred Cows. When Gutenberg invented the printing press with movable type in 1440 it gave way to an explosion of communication&#...
