You've won but you feel oppressed. Sunday, 14 August 2011. With help from Ultrafoetus. Who contributed via Twitter. There once was a man called Dave Starkey. Tuesday, 2 August 2011. Video for Kelvox1's Drugsbox by Matt Tompkins, who I last visited out in Shanghai in 2006. Kelvox 1 - Drugsbox. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Cold Calling: Afterlife

You've won but you feel oppressed. Monday, 24 September 2012. Some things I didn't like about Holy Motors - Carax's 'humour' on some occasions, like the cliche of a cliche that is the fashion photographer, crying "beauty, beauty! But we wouldn't be here if we hadn't taken the decision, if we hadn't decided it was over. Obviously I thought about this after watching Holy Motors. Has the film helped my personal situation? Cold Calling: February 2012
http://kelvox1.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
You've won but you feel oppressed. Monday, 6 February 2012. Recently watched Desplechin's 'Un Conte de Noel' - 'A Christmas Tale'. It’s hard to buy Ivan’s reaction when his wife spends a night with his cousin – just one of too many character or story moments that jar," Time Out London Review. But in Desplechin generally, the real question is. Is this heaven or hell? Is this a better or a worse world than the one of 'credible' relations between people, of reactions we can 'buy'. Labels: A Christmas Tale.

Screened Out: Dear recruitment agent
http://screened-out.blogspot.com/2013/11/dear-recruitment-agent.html
Do you remember when I registered with you? That bright smiling day in your office when you admired my CV and promised that ongoing full-time warehouse work was just around the corner? As we completed the paperwork we were full of hopes about our future together. And later, after a single day's work which you assured me was only an interim measure, I even gave you my P45. How did it come to this? Was our relationship doomed from the start? Was I wrong to trust you? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Another job interview. The same recycled material, the same territory trodden so many times before. And as if by some far-fetched parodic device, this was literally the same job I had been interviewed for three years previously, and at the same place: assistant at an industrial laundry plant. Not an especially sought-after position - quite the opposite. After the tour I was shown into the office of the current manager, Ian; a middle-aged Scot with tattoos and a hi-viz vest.
