Alex Weisbach's Blog: 6/14/10

http://www.ridingthroughlife-alex.blogspot.com/2011/01/61410.html

This blog is about riding, running, and other simple pleasures. Saturday, January 1, 2011. We left Council, Idaho today. It was a beautiful day with warm winds and clear skies. We road up hill, again, for a while but the road soon leveled out. We covered 91 miles in an effort to regain what we lost yesterday. I watched as the landscape changed from pine trees and wind swept valleys back to mountain passes. I was struck by the wind washed land and the hardiness of both the people and the vegetation.

This blog is about riding, running, and other simple pleasures. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. I rode 61 miles today. The weather was beautiful and the pace was steady. I worked my way down Memorial and soon rolled through Hershey Park and by Addicks Reservoir. As traffic lessened the pace became steady, the pedal stroke rhythmic, and the act of riding and thinking soon prevailed. 1) Laugh often and laugh much. 3) Find the best in others. 4) Give of one's self. This blog is about riding, running, and other simple pleasures. Saturday, August 14, 2010. Good to meet ya' Archie. Life is a bundle of great little things.". There is nothing more pleasant than waking to the sound of a rushing river. This was the case in Oxbow, Oregon as the sun burned off the morning dew and brought to life the smell of sap and pine. A fleece lined jacket took care of the morning chill while a steaming cup of coffee made everything just right. Come share it with me. Feel the Idaho hear...

Riding Thru Bees | Staying focused through the swarms of distraction

Staying focused through the swarms of distraction. Christmas, Coffee, and Experience. December 23, 2016. Yesterday, I was reminded of something I always heard, but never heeded. When brewing coffee in a French Press, there are temperature and timing requirements. I coarsely grind my beans. The water is at 205 degrees. I wet the grinds for 30 seconds and experience the “bloom.” Four minutes in the French Press, then “press” and pour. Voila — coffee. Experience it. Merry Christmas. Will I Ever See It Again?
