Riding the Edge

Saturday, April 19, 2008. 4-19-08. Its cold(42), rainy and muddy. I was wet, fingers were frozen, couldn't see through my goggles but I still couldn't manage to head home and loving every minute of it. Saturday, April 19, 2008. Anybody have any break-in suggestions? So far I'm not wide-open, but not to nice on it either. How do the mag testers do it? They get new bikes to test, Hammer, wheely, jump ect. Also, Ive been told to change the oil after 600 mi, Im thinking earlier. Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Riding the Edge

http://ridingtimbersedge.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-like-to-ride-just-about-anything-and.html

Saturday, April 19, 2008. I like to ride just about anything and everything. Narrow, rocky, twisty, turny, Wheeling through tight trees to get the bars through, stumpy trails are my favorite. The problem with a Dual-Sport bike is that they can't do anything great, and you have to sacrifice power for street reliability. For me, I just gear it down and hit the pavement to find another cool trail. Anybody have any break-in suggestions? Saturday, April 19, 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Motorcycle Trail Adventures: March 2009

http://mototrailadventures.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

A place to share my riding experiences. Monday, March 30, 2009. It has been just over a year since my re-entry into the dirt bike/trail riding world and much has changed. You may remember. My story of how I attempted my very first enduro event last year at the 2008 Sparkplug Enduro. And how I bit off a lot more than I could chew. It was an eye opening experience to say the least. My goals were as follows:. 1 finish the 55 mile short course. 2 try not to hour out. 3 stay injury free. My WR before the ride.

Motorcycle Trail Adventures: November 2008

http://mototrailadventures.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

A place to share my riding experiences. Saturday, November 15, 2008. I just received my latest issue of Trail Rider Magazine. Yes, the one that published my Sparkplug story. And inside it has a riders review of the WR250R. Since I own that bike I thought it would be interesting to see what the professional riders (writers? Had to say about the bike I enjoy. The first paragraph contains the following words:. The WR250R is not made for that kind of riding.". I know that my Sparkplug Enduro experience.

A place to share my riding experiences. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. I recently sifted through a bunch of old photos and I came across some old quad pics from the early 90s. I just thought it'd be a good idea to post them for all to enjoy. At the Beverly Dunes in Eastern Washington. (Photo by Tony Marrapodi). John Garner (Lump) and I after a good ride. Motorcycle Trail Adventures: February 2010

http://mototrailadventures.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

A place to share my riding experiences. Friday, February 12, 2010. I have not been on a motorcycle since September 2009 and I'm feeling a strong need to go riding. The last 6 months have been a life-altering experience. I started flying for Korean Air in July and have had to spend the the majority of the last 6 months overseas. Because of this, and also because of the typical winter weather in the Pa. The closest I've been to being on a bike since September was the "Harley" that I rode in Seoul. Then you...

A place to share my riding experiences. Saturday, June 5, 2010. Tippy Killswitch" and sons go for a ride. The much anticipated Burris family get-together occurred at the end of May in order to celebrate a few birthdays and Mother's Day. But most importantly, it was a chance for the entire family to spend some time together at the same time. Part of this planned event included a day ride on the bikes for my Dad, brother and I. Here's what we did to Dad's Yamaha:. Installed the much needed Yamalink. Remove...

Motorcycle Trail Adventures: July 2010

http://mototrailadventures.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

A place to share my riding experiences. Monday, July 5, 2010. Last year my old high-school buddy, Dan, attended an organized riding event called “The Chumstick”. It is a 2-day riding/camping event that is held in the Entiat, WA area. Since he told me “it’s a ride that shouldn’t be missed”, I decided to go this year, and drag my brother and father along too. The bikes are still clean at this point. Our planned route consisted of about 35 miles of dirt roads, followed by 45 miles of pavement, and then topp...

A place to share my riding experiences. Monday, April 28, 2008. Here's the latest photo of the WR with the new mods! Monday, April 21, 2008. No luck at the Wet Duck. Well, at least when it came to the hand I was dealt. Since this ride was the "Wet Duck Poker Run. Everyone selected cards at various checkpoints in order to complete a poker hand. I started out smokin' with an ACE of Hearts! I hadn't even been on the course yet and I was already kicking butt! So I ended up with a very enjoyable ride! The res...

Motorcycle Trail Adventures: September 2009

A place to share my riding experiences. Tuesday, September 22, 2009. So I went online to http:/ www.langstonracing.com/. And bought myself a 48 tooth Renthal sprocket and a new Renthal chain. I've found that Langston Racing has excellent customer service and has been promt in shipping my orders every time. My only issue with this last order was that they didn't include a "Langston Racing" decal. Here's the new sprocket mounted on my wheel. Here's the new Pro Taper bar installed on the WR. Motorcycle Trail Adventures: May 2008

http://mototrailadventures.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

A place to share my riding experiences. Saturday, May 31, 2008. So because Yamaha "cheaped out" and didn't put a skidplate on the WR from the factory, I thought in order to prevent smashing the crankcase on a rock or tree root, I'd install an aftermarket plate. I read a few forum posts. And looked at a few photos of the limited selection of skidplates to choose from and I settled on the one from Thumpertalk.com. It is reasonably priced and looks like it'll do the job well. Wednesday, May 14, 2008. I just...

Riding Thru Bees | Staying focused through the swarms of distraction

Staying focused through the swarms of distraction. Christmas, Coffee, and Experience. December 23, 2016. Yesterday, I was reminded of something I always heard, but never heeded. When brewing coffee in a French Press, there are temperature and timing requirements. I coarsely grind my beans. The water is at 205 degrees. I wet the grinds for 30 seconds and experience the “bloom.” Four minutes in the French Press, then “press” and pour. Voila — coffee. Experience it. Merry Christmas. Will I Ever See It Again?

Riding to B

The Four Ponies in My Backyard. Thursday, September 8, 2016. Bullet Points of the AECs. I will go into more detail later but the general results of the AEC's go like this…. Best dressage test ever with Chimi! Stadium was in the fancy ass George Morris arena and woohoo a clear round! Even cantered past the scary Land Rovers parked in the middle of the ring! There is always next time for a ribbon! We would of been 7th if they hadn't counted the stop). Headed to jump 15 at the AEC's. Monday, August 29, 2016.

Riding to Break the Cycle

Riding to Break the Cycle. Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Day 13: Newport to Florence. Thursday, June 12 - one of the best days ever. not just of the trip, but of my life. It was super! I stopped to take a photograph of the most beautiful view ever. That is, until roughly 40 feet down the road, where that was the most beautiful view ever. We hit sanddunes in Florence. The first ones were seen behind the Fred Meyer. More importantly, inside Fred Meyer were stoc. Ked speakers… speakers to which one can at...
