In the short time they talked, he found out that she will be a great resource for helping us reduce our impact while building a home. The following pictures show the progress that has been made since Thanksgiving, including:. 2 The upper level ICF walls were poured. 3 The interior framing was completed. 4 The roof trusses and decking was installed. 5 The geothermal loop was installed. 6 The well was drilled (76 feet into a good bed of gravel, and good clear water). 7 The beginning of installation of windows, electrical, and plumbing. After finally resigning ourselves that we would probably not find the right piece of land at an affordable price in our current school district to build an energy efficient "green" home-we did! I have a part time position as an engineer with an environmental consulting firm and work from a home office and travel to sites in the Detroit area.
