Out My Door | Ripple on the Sea
https://rightingme.wordpress.com/2015/08/06/out-my-door
Ripple on the Sea. A tiny wave toward healing after trauma. Posted in own your story. My home has two doors. Out my back door is a world of comfort and sunlight. Out that door is a place of safety and fun; of relaxation and space. It’s there I can settle into a coffee in the morning shade, sink into a good book in the afternoon sun, or write as the sun sets and then late into the night. Something Old ». 2 thoughts on “ Out My Door. August 12, 2015 at 1:17 am. August 12, 2015 at 8:01 am. November 1, 2016.

Ripple on the Sea. A tiny wave toward healing after trauma. Sometimes it helps to look back at what we’ve accomplished and overcome as a strong recognition of our capability. In the last decade I definitely have some good things to look back on as reminders to my ability. These are not in any particular order. 8211; Regained and repaired friendships that fell aside during a violent relationship. 8211; Gaining the affection and trust of my new kitties. 8211; To have my presence trusted during the arrival ...

A Mom, A Wife, A Forest Explorer. He’s not Captain America. In the Blink of an Eye →. August 11, 2015. Ahhh Summer. So much to write about! I have ideas firing off in my brain all day long, but no time to get it down before it is gone. You see, that is a problem with me, I write beautiful things in my head all day long, and even if I do find a pen to jot down notes, I can rarely re-create what I really wanted to say. If I could I just export my ideas instantly when they blip (bleep? Hmmm Anyway. I am...

A Mom, A Wife, A Forest Explorer. A Little Lesson on Overcoming – For the Parent of a Teased or Bullied Child. He’s not Captain America →. So Much More Than The Badge. June 10, 2015. Salty tears are drying on my cheeks as I write another post inspired by yet another tragedy. In May, I watched as other blogs and posts on Facebook piled up, as that month proved to be one of the deadliest months. Today, Canadians mourn the loss of another officer shot on duty while issuing a warrant at a home in Edmonton, A...

A Mom, A Wife, A Forest Explorer. So Much More Than The Badge. Next Post →. He’s not Captain America. June 30, 2015. As it turns out, I have a lot to say about this police wife life. Which surprises me, because I didn’t think I would. I find myself wondering if I am particularly negative or worrisome about this career my husband chose. I wonder if I could be more useful if I was quiet and supportive of the policing life. I could never do it. This is the cop I want to talk about today. We have a whole wor...

8220;The End” Is Only The Beginning. February 24, 2015. February 24, 2015. When I was sixteen, I got my first real job. My first introduction to the working world of W-2s, withholding and fifteen-minute breaks was as a retail sales clerk for the now-defunct B. Dalton Bookseller. For a teenager whose nose was always buried in a book, it was the perfect first job, even if it did pay only a nickel more than the minimum wage of $3.80 an hour. On New Year’s Day 2014, I sat down and started to write, giv...

Patience is a virtue (that you’ll need if you want to trad-pub). March 5, 2015. March 6, 2015. In my first post in this series. I explained how being published (and by that I mean traditionally published, going the agent-to-publisher route) has been my dream since I was a teenager. While I didn’t exactly fast-draft the way some folks do for NaNoWriMo. Completing a first draft in a single calendar month, banging out a 95,000-word draft in just over three months represents a pretty good clip for a lot of w...

My year in review. December 30, 2014. Another year-end blog post? Yes, my friends. This is my year-end blog post. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Of course, I’m not quite there yet, but I’m well on my way. The novel I started to write on New Year’s morning,. The Road Back From Broken,. What successes will I be able ...

Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Be a struggle, that we don't get/aren't allowed to live the lives meant for us (and the lives meant. And who would they be without them? Possibly someone they don't recognize and that can be disconcerting and discombobulating. So in the face of these (and a myriad of other possibilities I haven't mentioned), my suggestions to you are:. Life, not theirs.
