Our primary goal is to increase the use of the Leaps and Bounds Playground by children and adults with special needs. In order to do this, we must increase awareness that this playground was built to serve the entire Shreveport-Bossier community and visitors to the area. The freedom for all to play without frustration, ridicule or fear on all playgrounds is our ultimate goal.

Louisiana’s first Boundless Playground. Was funded by donations from our community in partnership with SPAR. This playground is a gift from Right to Play, Inc. to the City of Shreveport. And all its visitors. No bikes, skateboards or other wheeled toys. No animals except service animals. No weapons, fireworks, or fires of any kind. Smoking prohibited by the City of Shreveport Ordinance No. 37 of 2005. Adult supervision is recommended.

Right to Play, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization, has provided the Shreveport-Bossier City area with the first Boundless Playground. In Louisiana. This all-inclusive playground is designed and built so all children, the fully able and those with physical, sensory, or developmental disabilities can play together. It also offers full accessibility to adults with special needs. The Board of Right to Play, Inc serves voluntarily. We do not hire any staff or pay an executive director.

In 1999, a non-profit, all volunteer organization named Right to Play, Inc. was formed in Shreveport. The sole purpose was to design and build the first Boundless Playground. In Louisiana. I was the founder and have continued to serve as president since the beginning. RTP hosted meetings with parents of special needs children, physical and occupational therapists, educators (both special ed as well as mainstream), artists, landscape specialists, members of SPAR.
