Rimfall: Summer harvest
http://janken-farmdiary.blogspot.com/2011/01/summer-harvest.html
Tuesday, January 25, 2011. An Emerald spotted tree frog calling. There are green specks on their back which is not obvious in this picture. They eat insects - I think we need more of them! Purple King beans do well in the heat. I have Blue Lake ones too and they have produced very well but it is really a bit hot for them now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hero of the CSG war. Rimfall: Garden Update
http://janken-farmdiary.blogspot.com/2010/11/garden-update.html
Wednesday, November 10, 2010. However the plants are getting bigger now so I think I'm winning. I'm harvesting potatoes, silverbeet, kale, garlic and a few carrots. Chives looking pretty. I have lots scattered throughout the garden. Silver beet gone to seed. I plan on saving the seed from this one. I was surprised to find it has grown over 2 metres tall. Garlic seed heads - it's been a bit damp for garlic this Spring but I have harvested some today and it seems to be good. Hero of the CSG war. Gas Rig at...

Rimfall: April 2010

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Henny P does it again. Check out where Jock, the working dog, is relaxing after a hard day! And here's our boy again helping to get the School ready for visitors this weekend. He is not great at cleaning but he certainly does keep those cattle away from the fence. (He doesn't really have six legs! She lays blue eggs and her chickens so far are always mostly black no matter what the rooster may be. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hero of the CSG war. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Telstra You have to laugh! As we have neither a land line at present or mobile phone reception I have been trying to communicate with Telstra. By email. We never have had mobile reception here as it is just too mountainous. It took my some time to find the appropriate form on their website and I dutifully filled it out with all my account and identification details. My message was simple. As we have no mobile coverage at Mt Gipps. Shop to assist you further with. 4-5 bars = full ...

Rimfall: June 2009
http://janken-farmdiary.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 20, 2009. It will be interesting to see what we can do along this edge as the last flood took out most of the trees from this side. It is quite steep and the fence will be good for cattle management as well. Many other parts of the creek are thick with seedlings - mostly casuarinas. Flooded gums, lilypilly. And native hibiscus. No doubt we shall have to do a bit of weed control early on to give the seedlings a chance. Section to be fenced off - from here to the next gully. A Day in Casino.

Friday, November 13, 2009. Whats happening in the garden. Just a few shots to show what’s happening - all the summer stuff is taking off in the garden and as usual there is a carpet snake around the place – this time just outside the study window. We tried to persuade him with a broom to go somewhere else but he’s back in the roof. I’m sure he (she) would get rid of any rats but what about mother possum! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday, February 1, 2010. A day away from the farm back in November. This is on our hike in Main Range NP. It was hot and dry and hazy from fires but a great day all the same. I'd like to do more walks here in the cooler months. And them we got into the Summer holidays and it was very busy. Late afternoon it's nice in the garden, otherwise it's been too hot to do much. Are very nice and grow well as long as you keep the fruit fly out with bags or mesh. Labels: Long hot Summer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
