I think my mum took offense some time back when I told her that women should not ask their partner stuff like, do you love me? Or how do I look? Or do you think I'm fat? Because growing up, she'd definitely been guilty of posing at least one of these questions to my dad. And I pitied him. So I've never asked those kinds of questions, ever. I mean, poor guys. What do we expect them to say really? Which reminds me of a joke my mum told me:. Did you hear about the dentist and manicurist who got together?

I should also mention that I'm desperate to get well before my short trip. I woke Sunday morning with an itchy throat when I'd felt completely fine the day before. At first I thought it was just a tickle due to thirst, but as the day progressed, it got worse. My throat felt hot, scratchy and inflamed; when I cough, it really hurts and I can hear phlegm rattling in my lungs. In the evening, I began having a persistent nose drip.
