https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2015/02/welcome-to-clovelly.html
To be or not to be. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Come tumble down the cobbled streets of Clovelly with me today-. A village in North Devon, England. This summer we went to look at a few universities in the UK for my daughter who will be finishing school soon. A road trip with a purpose turned out to be an exciting adventure. Friends of ours who are avid walkers and hikers recommended a few gems to be explored,. Clovelly was one such gem. Put your most comfortable shoes on and come along. How cool is that?

My Ordinary Moments: adventurous auntyjis arrive in Kareri - Himachal.
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2015/05/adventurous-auntyjis-arrive-in-kareri.html
To be or not to be. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Adventurous auntyjis arrive in Kareri - Himachal. I felt mighty chuffed with myself at this point. In fact, I felt better than chuffed. I felt 'cool'- being part of a girls only trek at 44 (despite the husband's passive aggressive protest). India's daughters were in their element. There's a man who will be joining us on the trek.' informed the trek organiser. Traditions, values and cultural nuances. I wish I'd kept my mouth shut! None of the other 'girls' menti...

My Ordinary Moments: Of Doors and Shekhawati in Rajasthan.
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2014/06/of-doors-and-shekhawati-in-rajasthan.html
To be or not to be. Sunday, June 15, 2014. Of Doors and Shekhawati in Rajasthan. Two weeks ago, I decided to take a month off from work so that I could catch up on reading and writing. I haven't even picked up a book- let alone turn the first page. And today is the first time I've sat down to write! Yes, the list of 'becauses' is a dark well of excuses which sucks creativity and thrives on guilt (or any other negative emotional factor). Yes, the mundane can't be ignored but emotions like frustration, fea...

My Ordinary Moments: Travel
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/p/work-in-progress.html
To be or not to be. Gets discovered in delightful Duluth. Would you like to go for a walk? Sure', I agreed naively. It was the 12th of July 2013- our second evening in Duluth, Minnesota. The walk meandered through immaculately laid out streets brimming with maples and pines. Houses spoke their stories and shared their histories as my kind friend animatedly filled the evening air with local tales peppered with dashes of gossip. Life couldn't be more prefect, could it? I shook my head -no. September 28, 20...

My Ordinary Moments: I wandered lonely as a cloud....of anniversaries, lakes and William Wordsworth
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2015/08/i-wandered-lonely-as-cloudof.html
To be or not to be. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I wandered lonely as a cloud.of anniversaries, lakes and William Wordsworth. Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.". Twenty-five years ago, on the 2nd of August, two events happened:. 1 Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, and. 2 My mother died. The first event made world news. The second unmade me. Loss and death are difficult to comprehend, especially when you are nineteen. Twenty-five years is a long time and it's no time at all. I suspect that Words...

My Ordinary Moments: To be or not to be
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/p/not-my-best-moments.html
To be or not to be. To be or not to be. I am turning into a BLOG MONSTER. The husband came back home last night to discover that there was NO dinner, NO plans for dinner and NO hint of any plans to order any dinner. After being together for twenty plus years, he KNOWS exactly what to do when I am wallowing in the throws of creativity. Close the door securely behind him and start dialling for Pizza, but NEVER utter the words:. What's for dinner tonight? It's called 'self-preservation' in the Jain household.

My Ordinary Moments: Who am I?
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/p/who-am-i_19.html
To be or not to be. Honestly, I don't know. When I was nineteen, I was sure of who I was and what I wanted from life. Twenty three years later, I seem to have harvested more questions than answers about myself. However, I have come to the conclusion that I am the sum total of all my ordinary moments- hence, this blog. Few of my favourite things are:. Travelling, gardening, reading, listening to music, writing and watching movies. Fills me with joy. Lately, I have been toying with the idea of finding me i...

My Ordinary Moments: July 2015
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
To be or not to be. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Dithi Mukherjee: lost and found. Of horns and scorns. Purpose- to see the Goddess. Floating down the green staircase. As I ascended to see. In red and purple. Hmm, would love it. The kettle whooshed the water. To undo the leaves that lay. At the bottom of the glass. Next to a window. At the printing table. Do I look into those eyes. Or do I listen to her speak? Do I focus on her art. Do I sip my tulsi tea. Or snap the studio? I do it all. I was lost in Geneva.

My Ordinary Moments: A day in Delft with Johannes Vermeer and Anne
https://artismoments.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-day-in-delft-with-johannes-vermeer.html
To be or not to be. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A day in Delft with Johannes Vermeer and Anne. I know I'd promised Van Gogh but as I sat down to write about him, I realised this would take time. The potent decoction of his art, his letters and his way of looking at things needs time to simmer inside me a bit longer. Instead, my friends, we will be visiting Johannes Vermeer. But before we start, here are a few lines that are. Ready to be shared. Stormy Saturday smeared me. Delft became the canvas. On 25th...
