Outside the Mosh Pit: Moshing in the New Year
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2013/01/moshing-in-new-year.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Moshing in the New Year. No Power and Joint Damage played. I thought for sure it would be packed inside and I'd end up stuck outside listening to bands in the cold. Living in California makes anything below 60 feel cold. This time around I managed to be inside. They've definitely grown as a band. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves. Modern Life Is War. Sunny Day Real Estate. Lunchbox Records Charlotte, NC. Outside the Mosh Pit: September 2010
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Fest finally posted their schedule! Check it out here. Thursday, September 16, 2010. Now that we're knees deep into September, there is a lot of chatter about Fest. Buying Tickets. Booking Hotels. Possibility of House Shows. Everyone's all about it. Especially, taking days off work for it. my favorite part. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves. Modern Life Is War. Sunny Day Real Estate. Lunchbox Records Charlotte, NC. View my complete profile.

Outside the Mosh Pit: October 2010
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Toe is another great instrumental band. The drummer is pretty ridiculous and makes the beats look so easy and incorporates a lot of different 'sounds' (for lack of a better word). I'm way into this band and of course they're an international band. so there's a fat chance I'll ever see them live. Sunday, October 10, 2010. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves. Modern Life Is War. Outside the Mosh Pit: The Lemonheads
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-lemonheads.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. My gears have shifted into reverse. For months and months now, I've been listening to classic and 90's rock. I still support today's local music scene but I've begun to listen to a lot of older stuff. The Beatles, Lynrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, The Beach Boys, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Pink Floyd. and so forth! It's almost no different to me because remnants of older music generations are audible in today's underground rock culture. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves.

Outside the Mosh Pit: May 2010
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Thursday, May 27, 2010. Earlier this week, The Wonder Years hinted they had a big announcement to make. they kept quiet until today. If your first assumption is they're going on a hiatus or breaking up. well. You are very wrong. Actually it's the opposite: The Wonder Years have signed to Hopeless Records. The contract is complete, so it's most definitely official! So, congrats to The Wonder Years. Sounds like 2010 is going to be a good year for them. Monday, May 24, 2010. Oh, and do...

Outside the Mosh Pit: Pelican
http://outsidethemoshpit.blogspot.com/2010/10/pelican.html
Outside the Mosh Pit. Sunday, October 10, 2010. I've been listening to them a lot. As well as humming their tunes since that's really all you can do for an instrumental band. Their album, City of Echoes, is great. Really low key and chill but does not drone on. It's perfect for when you aren't 'in the mood' for anything that's on your ipod. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves. Monday, 8 June 2009. 8220;Concubine” Converge (0:00-0:20). Every time I listen to this, I always end up reminiscing about that cool bit in Gladiator when Russell Crowe bellows at his troops ‘On my signal, UNLEASH HELL! 8217; Jacob Bannon and Co. lull the listener into a false sense of security with an offbeat, Botch-esque build-up before setting loose an enormous wall of brain-splitting white noise. More brutal than Conan The Barbarian cracking walnuts with his bare hands. Oh my God, oh my God! There is ...

Tuesday, 31 March 2009. UnderOath "Lost In The Sounds Of Seperation". From the ferocious opening of 'Breathing In A New Mentality' to subdued closer 'Desolate Earth: The End Is Here' UnderOath have marked their place as one of the most consistently innovative and emotive heavy bands on the scene today. Aaron Gillespie compensates for this lack of technicality with another hyperactive, ridiculously creative performance from behind the kit (witness the start of 'The Only Survivor.), launching furious w...
