Crochet and knitting; fiber arts; crafts. March 7, 2008. This is what I was working on a short while ago while listening to. The Valiant, a Star Trek: The Next Generation. Novel in my bedroom. As you can see, I’m making use of the green rug yarn to make a shopping bag. I’ve been crocheting a lot, but last night night I started knitting a headband. I also made an orange rug for my younger cat using the same stitch pattern and hook as the lapghan. It’s here in the office providing a color burst. You are co...

Crochet and knitting; fiber arts; crafts. March 26, 2008. Tuesday, March 25th. I think opiates were released in my brain when I watched the slideshow of the yarny pics that I just transferred to the computer. Something was feeling really good inside my head, I know that much. I have crocheted. Up so much. I’ve made 15 dishcloths recently and have already chosen the yarn that I’m going to use to make many more. I had to go to Wal-Mart a couple times this month to quiet the urges. I could still buy mor...

Crochet and knitting; fiber arts; crafts. February 21, 2008. Wednesday, February 20th. I’ve got new projects going as usual, but today I only added more rows to the massive double stitch crochet scrap blanket while watching TV. I realized that I like to work on it when I get tense or don’t want to have to think too much about what I’m doing. Next we see the bright, colorful water bottle carrier that I spontaneously made in my bedroom one day. I customed-fitted the strap especially for my body which i...

Crochet and knitting; fiber arts; crafts. April 2, 2008. It’s a project picture day! I took most of the pics that you see here today. As you can see, I made a preemie baby blanket with the thought of donating it to the hospital in mind. Yesterday I played in my bedroom while listening to. By Dean Koontz on CD. I sewed pin backs onto flowers that I crocheted last year. This V-stitch throw in neutral yarn colors is the last project I had my hands on today. I worked on it while sitting on the porch. This is...

Rita'sReallyGreatStuff: July 2009
http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Thursday, July 9, 2009. This is my second official round doily made with Peaches and Creme cotton yarn. A cotton hand towel that I made to be used in the bathroom in lieu of paper towels. The stitch pattern is called "Thistle Stitch.". I knit this dishcloth/washcloth on my Sensations #10 knitting needles. Probably took longer than the hand towel to make because the stitches are so much shorter. I was glad to end it. The crochet train keeps chugging right along at my house!

Rita'sReallyGreatStuff: June 2009
http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Monday, June 29, 2009. I made these booties for my great niece last month, I believe. My first pair. Just like making slippers. An easy pattern. The last thing I made was a scarf. I'm going to start another scarf today. A medium pink color. Going to start a hooded baby blanket in lavender acrylic yarn as a larger project. The stitch pattern is ripple stitch as I know it to be called. Produces a highly textured fabric. It's going to look great! Links to this post.

Rita'sReallyGreatStuff: April 2009
http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Have been crocheting a lot as usual. Have many, many crochet projects in various stages going on as evidenced by the heaping pile on one end of my couch. Today I sat on the porch listening to an audiobook like usual while crocheting a yellow scarf. I'll be crocheting scarves all year long so that I will have a ton of them finished by the time the next cold season arrives. I have started composting! Links to this post. Rita'sReallyGreatStuff: April 2010
http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Sunday, April 25, 2010. More crochet to come! I made this baby blanket using three strands of sport weight yarn in three different colors for the main body of it. It's all half double crochet except for the last row of the edging which is reverse single crochet. The doll model was wrapped up in the blanket and wore the hat for months while residing in my bed. She desperately needs a new outfit and so do my other dolls. More crocheting for me to do. Links to this post. Right...

http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Friday, February 27, 2009. This is the latest blanket that I've been working on. The color parts are double crochet and the black rows are crossed half doubles.I'm going to put black around the edge when I get done with the red. This is the second to last scrap blanket that I made. I'm sitting on top of it because it's being used as a chair cover at the moment. Links to this post. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Rita'sReallyGreatStuff: December 2008
http://ritasreallygreatstuff.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Crochet and knitting projects. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Yesterday I finally made it over to Norman C. Sleezer Youth Home to drop off the things I wanted to donate. It wasn't bitterly cold out so that helped the process a lot. Among the crocheted items that I left at their new home is the purple scarf you see in three different shades of Pop 'N Yarn brand yarn. I LOVE that yarn! It feels thicker than other 4-ply worsted weight yarns and the colors are so deep. Love it! To start another box of donations...

Friday, December 18, 2009. Reflections: Week 13 and 14. We met out at Goodwill Industries for our class time and did a bunch of things out there. We first took a tour of the place and found out how big that place was! Then we were spoke to on the recycling process of many different textiles. It's crazy how materials cannot always be broken down to how we need them to be! This week on Monday we went over our junking projects! We had snack and then went around and explained what we learned this semester...
