Laura's Tallit: Yellow CurleyCue Building
http://lauratallit.blogspot.com/2009/11/yellow-curleycue-building.html
Sunday, November 22, 2009. This one is named for its interior. The background of the center area was done in a 6-ply Brick over 4 threads using Splendor S909 stopping at the black interior design. The yellow interior continued with the same thread in a 4-ply basketweave being very careful to leave the black design exposed. I wanted the design to lay even in depth with the background and not sit atop other stitching. And here is the stitch guide. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Laura's Tallit: Beginning the Center Building
http://lauratallit.blogspot.com/2010/02/beginning-center-building.html
Saturday, February 20, 2010. Beginning the Center Building. I delayed stitching the Center Building because I felt that it was so central to the finished piece and I wanted to get a true feel for how the entire piece would develop. I kept visualizing various possible stitches while doing the other areas and now I can put them in to reality. To get the colors to blend, the long stitch blended into the upper row. I noted where the stitch went up with the purple circles. February 22, 2010 at 11:58 AM.

Monday, January 25, 2010. Patterns of the Orient. This is a glorious, though challenging, piece from Tony Minieri. It's a study in Chinese, Japanese and Korean textiles. Each area represents a different pattern used in contemporary and ancie. Nt fabrics. I think I'm enjoying it . some days it's way over my head. Posted by Nimble Thimble. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Laura's Tallit: September 2009
http://lauratallit.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 28, 2009. Small purple dome building. It's been a busy 2 weeks with the High Holidays and other family concerns. So I finally am getting back to post. There was a choice between the large purple-roofed building and the small purple-roofed building in the right panel. I was concerned about how to stitch the roof, so I started with the smaller building because there was more room for error and it was more in the foreground. And as always, the stitch guide:.
