기업이 주식을 추가 발행하여 자금을 조달하는 것을 유상증자라고 한다. 무상증자는 기업이 돈을 받지 않고 주식을 추가로 발행하는 것을 말한다. 따라서 무상증자의 경우에는 주식수는 늘어나지만 총자산은 그대로이다. 그렇다면 무상증자는 왜 하는걸까? 자금을 얻기 위해서는 아니다. 형식적인 증자로 볼 수 있는데 자본의 구성을 바꾸는 등 여러가지 목적을 위해 실시된다. 무상증자로 주식수가 늘어나는만큼 주가는 떨어진다고 볼 수 있다. 100주가 있는 회사가 무상증자로 100주를 하면, 1주당 1천원이었다면 5백원으로 줄어든 셈이다. 기업의 가치에 비해 상대적으로 저평가되어 거래되는 것을 말한다. 이러한 가치주는 장기적인 투자에 좋은 편이다. 물론 장담할 순 없지만. 성장주는 가치주와 반대로 볼 수도 있다. 현재의 가치는 낮다. 하지만 장래의 가능성이 높아 미래수익이 크게 예상되는 경우 높은 가격에 거래되는데 이를 성장주라고 보면 된다. 단, 주변에서 하루만에 몇 백, 몇 천, 몇 억 번 이야기들을 많이 들을 수...
