http://ffoverseas.blogspot.com/2009/08/breakin-law-breakin-law.html
The totally true adventures of an American family living in the Philippines. Friday, August 7, 2009. This morning, we went to Immigration to get our status extended. It was very crowded, but didn't take all that long. We got the forms, filled them out, A went and paid, and then we took off. It takes an hour to process, plus they take an hour off for lunch, so we couldn't get our passports back until 2pm. From the Philippines. There is a touch-tank for the kids with star fish and sea cucumbers. The next a...

The Great Escape: Oh, my gosh! Book Fair!!
http://ffoverseas.blogspot.com/2009/09/oh-my-gosh-book-fair.html
The totally true adventures of an American family living in the Philippines. Friday, September 18, 2009. Oh, my gosh! The Manila Book Fair. Is going on, so we went over to check it out. I'm not going to lie. It was pretty awesome. The fair was probably split 30/40/20 between religious books/text and educational books/novels and non-fiction. So odds were on my side and I went hunting! If we end up back in the States before the girls are done with school, I'm going to stock up before we go! In one of the b...

Kaleidoscopic Curiosities: confession
http://artitudezine.typepad.com/kaleidoscopic_curiosities/2008/02/diet-coke-situa.html
All the shiny colorful things that catch my eye. February 26, 2008. I drank a Diet Coke the other day. As you may know, I adore Diet Coke but recently decided to go cold turkey because I am trying to eat clean, and there's not much point in eating clean while drinking chemicals. My last Diet Coke was on December 30 -. I took it as a sign. You see, for about a week I had been literally dreaming of Diet Coke. The spicy flavor, the exuberant fizz. The refreshment! I might not be able to stop at one! On the ...

Spiffy!: Lizzie, why you play me like that?
http://spiffyanne.blogspot.com/2008/02/lizzie-why-you-play-me-like-that.html
Thursday, February 7, 2008. Lizzie, why you play me like that? Progress on the Knitter's Almanac front. I'm 8 rounds in to the January sweater. Last night, I cast off the baby pad. This morning I moved on to the second February project, which is a lace shawl. Oh, shawl. you shall be conquered yet. Elizabeth Zimmerman is. how shall we say it. a litle vague? Could she possibly be more vague? This year of the Knitter's Almanac may be my undoing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Spiffy!: January 2008
http://spiffyanne.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. So what are you doing craftwise, anyway? It was to be The Year of Lace. I have a metric ton of laceweight yarn. I have a set of knitpicks Harmony needles that are pointy and slightly grippy and have a little hole where I can attach a life line. I have many, many lace projects marked in several books. So, what then? But would make excellent donations to LDS Humanitarian Services or Afghans for Afghans. A lot of my wool that is hanging around in the stash doing nothing has b...

Spiffy!: June 2008
http://spiffyanne.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 14, 2008. I really shouldn't start projects at 11pm. I'm several months ahead of my Knitter's Almanac project. It helps that I'm skipping all the fair isle and the projects for summer are small. Ok, problem solved. I cast on again. Only, this time with 4 increases per row instead of 2, the shape of the shawl was decidedly not triangular. Perhaps it would block out? Then, I noticed that the photograph in the book looked NOTHING like what I was doing. I had a large, basically stockinette...
