The yo-yo has changed from where in the original yo-yo design, the string was secured to the axle, to where in the modern design, the string is only looped around the axle, allowing the yo-yo to “sleep.” In both designs, the yo-yoist winds up the string tightly around the axle. http://anika14.blogspot.com/2016/03/conventions-and-reality.html

When you want to go on a roller coaster, you get in line. When you go to church, you wear your nicest clothes. When the stop light is green, you go. Why do we do these things? Yann Martel hides the conventions in Life of Pi.
