poppy street: February 2015
http://poppystreet.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. How pretty are these? We planted this eucalyptus tree about two and a half years ago after it was a gift to our family. We have watched it grow taller, trimmed the bottom branches off to encourage new growth and watched as it has continued to thrive. Before we went away for holidays at last Christmas, we noticed tiny buds appearing. We hoped that we would not be away when they decided to burst forth their colour. Links to this post. WIP wednesday {stripey blanket}. They make ...

Jeremy, Emily and girls. Friday, July 26, 2013. We really enjoyed our winter holidays again this year. The first week was spent at home with friends and sleepovers, had fun freezer stencilling some t-shirts, my new curtains arrived. so pleased! A coffee date, and some random op shopping where we scored some lovely books and a whole box of duplo for $15! Alyssa really wanted to visit "Old Mac Donalds Farm' in our local shopping centre, so we did that too. You missed out Dad! Jenna loves going to the farm!

Thursday, March 20, 2014. This Thursday I would like to share a very nice and colourful website. mellyandme. Has a range of patterns available for purchase, either online or even at your local craft store*. Kit packs are also available. This past week I used one of her patterns for the hobby horse and enjoyed sewing two. They are well written with a nice colourful photo on the front - and what's even better, she is an aussie crafty mum. :). A bright and fun sewing project, and little miss? I would love t...

poppy street: Make it Monday: Straight sewing {swaddle blankets}
http://poppystreet.blogspot.com/2015/03/make-it-monday-straight-sewing-swaddle.html
Monday, March 2, 2015. Make it Monday: Straight sewing {swaddle blankets}. When you have a desire to sew but don't have the oomph for anything requiring brain power. That happens here. More often then not. As children, when mum started to teach us the basics of sewing, we got to cut up old sheets to approx 30cm square. We had to iron in hems, measured, straight and even, with out burning our fingers. Folded over again, and straight stitched. No overlocker/serger for us. Her cupboard was well stocked.

poppy street: May 2015
http://poppystreet.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. It has been two months! Not really sure where that time has gone. I have been busy in the sewing room, enjoying the time I have in there as I know it will be limited in just over a months time. One project, actually two, I have thoroughly enjoyed making since Easter are these elephants. Hanging out together in the cradle for the next 4 weeks to see which one will become a permanent resident in there*. The pattern was purchased from the Stipenhaak website. Crochet hook: 2.75mm.

poppy street: Make it Monday: Straight sewing {pillowcases}
http://poppystreet.blogspot.com/2015/03/make-it-monday-straight-sewing.html
Monday, March 16, 2015. Make it Monday: Straight sewing {pillowcases}. This Monday I share with you how to make pillowcases. This was the way my mum taught us. It is simple and quick - and straight sewing! So the little birdie print was picked and whipped up along with a owl and chevron one. These are quick and easy. I'll even let you know how I do it:. These are fairly standard sized pillowcases. If your pillow is bigger, allow for it in your cutting measurements. Cut 1 37"x 20" and cut 1 31"x 20".

http://poppystreet.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Linking up with Bec from over at handmadeandhome. Always a little bit of time here and there for a bit more progress. This week I have finally made some headway on the quilt from the previous post, and another book-based floor pillow made it to the cutting board. The scrap-busting granny stripe has also grown and we have received part of the yarn order for the as-we-go-stripey blanket. This looks like a fun blanket to do, involving different stitches and colours each row.). It ha...

Thursday, November 21, 2013. Sewing: Quilt top #1 done! I finished hand stitching the binding of the first quilt with 3 hours spare before her birthday. (it has just taken me 3 weeks to get some photos.) I pulled off her old doona while she slept, and she woke under her new one in the morning. The granny square pillow was her first crochet project). The little picture squares are one of her top favourites. Mine would be the square below. Reverse of the quilt. And now I have two more to go. Our boy, when ...

Proud Big Brother Mason! We enjoyed looking after him for a week while Estelle was in hospital with the twins. Beautiful Fog one day: it lasted till about 2 o clock in the afternoon. Jeremy, Emily and girls. Friday, July 26, 2013. Yesterday we celebrated Alyssa's 8th Birthday! She'd been counting down the months, days and sleeps till the day! We love you lots Alyssa. We pray God will be with you and protect you always. We had a small after school party with Opa and Oma and cousins. Alyssa ordered her favourite meal 'Chicken Wraps' for dinner, with icecream cake for dessert. It can't get much better than that apparently! Cody James and Jake Preston. J and E Byl.
