At dawn we visited Jaisalmer fort, which unlike the other forts of Rajastan contains a sprawling bazaar and residential area all mixed into one, similar to a Middle Eastern souk. Beautiful stonework abounded and reached a wonderful climax as we visited two stately homes hawelis that really left us gobsmacked...
