Black Print Problems on HP Designjet 1050C (Solved). On May 1, 2014. This year my Designjet 1050C developed a strange issue with printing black. Whenever I tried to print something it would start printing fine then mid-way through the print the black would start fading until it printed no black whatsoever. It then threw a ‘black printhead failed’ error. Black print problem on printhead alignment. Test page showing fading black. Ink tubes in Designjet 1050C. Replace the black ink cartridge with a new one.
