Friday, February 24, 2012. Jaya has brought some tadpoles in to the class for us to have as class pets. She found them in a big water hole in the forest and she said there were "hundreds and hundreds of them". Jaya has been very organised and has brought them water and fish food - she even got them a rock so that when they turn into frogs they will have somewhere to sit. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. This week one of our reading groups and to read and follow the instructions on how to make a waka. We used flax sticks, wire and cardboard. It was hard to translate the instructions into practice. Thank you so much to Gary for cutting and shaping our flax sticks and to Pamela for patiently re-reading the instructions and helping with the wire. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Today we had our first lesson in the Life Education classroom. Our theme is "Happy and Healthy" and today we looked at emotions and feelings when put in new situations. We also looked at some of the organs in our body - the heart, lungs, brain, stomach and small intestine and learnt about where in the body they are.
