View my complete profile. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. So, it's been awhile. I took a brief (okay, a year) hiatus from blogging while I did my student teaching and finished up my undergraduate degree. I had a wonderful, productive, and rewarding year. Although I stopped posting, I didn't stop sewing! I still made a few things, but got out of the habit of taking regular pictures and writing posts. Now, in less than a week, I'm onto the biggest adventure of my life so far: moving to Shanghai!

Sunny with a Chance of Storms. Thursday, January 31, 2013. If you think you had a bad day. I asked the principal about it. Turns out she had been getting her hair done. Because her mother had died suddenly and they were going to Nigeria for the funeral. I never would have known - Nikki and all her friends were acting perfectly normal. But this girl is in fourth grade and just lost her mother. We had given out medals. I can't even begin to describe the look on that little girl's face. I ain't that rich!

He needs structure to direct that energy toward something constructive, but overall he does well in our Natural Bridge choir. His full name is African and really long, so everyone calls him Benny.
