roadlesstraveled: February 2009

http://www.roadlesstraveled-tryn.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. API and all that it entails. So I have to apologize for my inconsistent blogging. My best defense is that I have so little time, but that's no consolation to my loyal following (which I'm fairly certain I've lost and I now only blog for my own entertainment). Learning to swim in full flight gear (flight suit, boots, helmet, vest, gloves) that weighs more than you do when soaking wet, and a mile swim. The boon to these days of survival "training" is that they are spent in your ...

roadlesstraveled: September 2008

Sunday, September 21, 2008. White Sand and Dolphins. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. You can call me Ma'am. I'm slowly discovering the joys of living on an aviation base. For example, every morning I wake up to the sound of jets. Not just jets, mind you! It's like not returning a salute. You don't want to be *that* officer! Worse, though, is getting lost on base. This place is huge. And I really mean huge! I've also discovered that GPS is useless on base. Shockingly, base maps aren't included in the s...

roadlesstraveled: December 2008

http://www.roadlesstraveled-tryn.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 27, 2008. Fortunately, food preparation was, mostly, under control and the most that was required of me was to fill appetizer bowls with their pre-assigned coordinated chips and dip and to help garnish a rather expertly re-heated ham. I was also happy to help eliminate extra food. It's never a good idea to overwhelm guests with excessive food, especially if it hasn't been taste tested! Anyway, attached are some pictures from the day. Best re-heated ham ever! Pre-garnishing, of course.

roadlesstraveled: Senegal!

http://www.roadlesstraveled-tryn.blogspot.com/2011/11/senegal.html

Wednesday, November 23, 2011. The flight was relatively painless, punctuated by cooking bacon in the galley and listening to the Spanish controllers boggle my mind as I desperately tried to translate what they were saying. Clearly, I should spend more time at Spanish air fields! But they did prove helpful), and an highly eventful and barely survivable trip to the local market (from which we all managed to return, but only just barely! Flying over the Balearic Islands. Dogs and Windmills: February 2011

http://notorious-nik.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 24, 2011. The 80's gift to locomotion. Prego! Some tomcat's gift to me! Ladies and gentlemen. Bad news. The Buick is not doing so good. She needs either a new engine or to have her engine rebuilt. I will eventually get to that, but in the mean time, I need a dang way to get to work. I know what you are thinking, "Nick! You have so many awesome vehicles! Can't you just take a different one to work? Obviously the answer lays on Craig's list! But before we get into that, let me tell you a...

Dogs and Windmills: February 2014

http://notorious-nik.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 23, 2014. Shoe closets are the environmental disaster. It turns out it does! Luckily about half of it landed on my head. The other half unfortunately landed on the pristine dark black blacktop of the parking lot. (did I mention it was white paint? Yea so there I was looking at what should have been a small spill spread across the dark black parking lot like it was fucking nanobots consuming the earth! I have the parking spot right next to both the complex manager, and the president of th...

Dogs and Windmills: July 2014

http://notorious-nik.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 04, 2014. Life saved. Drive shafts are mindblowingly awesome! Happy 4th of July! In super slow motion, the Sheriff rolls up from the opposite direction. He is also stuck in traffic, just in the opposite direction. He looks at me with a face that says, "What the fuck dude? You are going to sit there and block traffic today on this road, in this place, at this time, in my county? This seemed to satisfy the sheriff to the point he turned off his lights and started rolling slowly away. Also, the...

Dogs and Windmills: Easter at the grocery store... Dad needs a cat for Christmas

http://notorious-nik.blogspot.com/2014/04/easter-at-grocery-store-dad-needs-cat.html

Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Easter at the grocery store. Dad needs a cat for Christmas. So, my folks came down to visit. This is the first time that they have both come together to see me since I graduated pilot training. Not that I think they were opposed to visiting, but I think a trip to eastern New Mexico to stay in a dusty workshop is less likely to make the schedule. Anyways, it was kind of like taking your vacation with Italians. Also, in other news, it turns out my Dad likes cats! Also, all my mom...

Wednesday, January 29, 2014. XKCD hits another homerun for Atmostpheric Science. So, I haven't been to work for two days. The panhandle of Florida is under about a quarter inch of ice and because of all the bridges being closed, I couldn't drive to work even if I wanted to be there. I talked to my brother up in Alaska and he tells me it is like spring up there and totally lovely. I ran out of super glue. Waiting for elmer's to dry. Elmers glue drys really damn slow. Decided to write a post! I thought the...

Dogs and Windmills: Back from the land where they sip their shots and shoot their coffee:

http://notorious-nik.blogspot.com/2009/02/back-from-land-where-they-sip-their.html

Thursday, February 12, 2009. Back from the land where they sip their shots and shoot their coffee:. My trip to Italian grocery stores.". Why no wisdom from the Notorious for the past month? The answer: I was on my mid-tour leave. As appealing and inviting as places like Montana and Michigan in January are, I decided to take up a buddy of mine on his standing invitation to come visit him in Italy. He lives in Tuscany. But First a little stop in Kuwait for some paperwork. I visited the Ferrari factory!

Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Positive energy turns out just a reinvention of "Little House on the Prairie" style food preservation. So, I know that many of you are waiting with baited breath for the results of my mind manipulation of physical matter experiments. After a month and a half, here are the results so far:. Yea so. it seems that there has been almost no change. I have several hypothesizes on why all three jars of rice balls have had such little change so far. Thursday, March 06, 2014. So I am doi...

Dogs and Windmills: Just a bit of Fiction

Friday, November 28, 2014. Just a bit of Fiction. Brenda played the stay at home mom bit, but in reality she was a bit of a trophy wife that sort of looked after her husband’s kid. She was a star in volleyball at collage and her legs got her invited to the right kind of parties to date rich men. She played her cards well and now she has the beautiful house, hardwood floors, granite countertops, and the life of leaser that she believes she deserves. After that he can take it and do amazing things. Jon com...
