Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. It’s been a decent month. I’ve had a three reasonable swims and a bunch of good rides. I was disappointed to DNF the Audax Alpine Classic for the second year in a row, but I’ve moved on and am contemplating my next challenge. No runs for the month, but I’m going to start getting back into it next week. 3 Swims for 5.5km. 13 Rides for 603.22km. Weight: 90.0kg (9am 31 Jan 12). Comments : Leave a Comment. Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. Now that my first ever triathlon is over, I’m thinking about what I’m going to aim for next, and the answer is easy. It’s the 2012 Audax Alpine Classic. Having been defeated last year. I’m going to attempt the same course and distance again. This year I’ve got the RAV so I can get out to the mountains for some more serious training. Other than the AAC, I’m seriously considering the 200km Scody High Country Challenge. In March, the M7 Westlink Marathon. You are comment...

Monday, June 29, 2009. Stealing is the new black- Updated! Corrections are noted in red. They really add a level of flair that the post alone was missing. Thanks for the additions. So apparently there has been a rash. Of stolen cars recently. My friend GB lives a horrifying similiar cell phone life to my friend DB (no relation). While DB once lost three phones in three seperate but contigious trips to chicago all in taxi cabs, GB once lost three phones in puddles. But still the car was taken in the thirt...

My First Triathlon: Race Report | chrisfit2009
https://chrisfit2009.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/my-first-triathlon-race-report
Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. My First Triathlon: Race Report. Done My first ever triathlon! And all things considered, it went quite well. The day started off early. The 8am start meant I needed to be up and eating by 6ish, and out at the venue by 7am. Having packed the night before, it was (for once) a relatively organised morning for me. To me that’s pretty piss poor. Now I know nothing about the logistics of running a triathlon, but timing mats should have been placed at the both sid...What I ...

Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. Ride Report: Audax Alpine Classic (140km). In November last year, I got it into my head that I wanted to ride the Audax Alpine Classic. So I entered. I first heard about the Alpine Classic about a year earlier when one of the guys who not infrequently does a local group ride was talking about it. It sounded daunting. 200kms with 50 kms of climbing. Good luck to you, no chance I’ll be doing it. Zero interest. After that, Amy’s Ride Canberra. 530am and I’m up....The fir...

Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. Today is the day, the triathlon is upon me. I’m packed and ready to go and I’ll be heading off in about half an hour. Before I go, a statement of my goals. Primary goal: To finish. Respectable time: 87 minutes. Stretch goal: 83 minutes. Bold goal: 77 minutes. The run is the catch. On a good day, I’ll run the 5km in 23 minutes. On a bad day, 30, I’m hoping to find something on the day and come home at sub 5min/km pace and finish strong. But time will tell. You are comm...

Fat Bike = Fit. The State of Things. Just under a month a go, and I’d only just completed my first ever 750m swim. 6 days earlier and I’d only just completed 200m non-stop. Tomorrow, I’m going to attempt a ramp-to-ramp swim in the lake. That’s a 1km open water swim. If I can get through that, I know I’m ready for the weekend. Laquo; An easier swim.
