Please join us in our adventure as we travel the road to building our Ryan home in Virginia. Our Floor Plan (Reverse Palermo). Our Options and Requests. 3D Rendering Of Our Palermo. Thursday, June 12, 2014. Twelve days from closing and appraisal. This home building process is really testing my patience. We never seem to run out of issues in the house. I don't want this blog to be all about my rants so I don't post all of them here. But there are so many! June 12, 2014 at 9:38 AM. June 18, 2014 at 10:37 PM.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Update: 6 days from closing (No excitement here). In my other previous post here. I mentioned the tube (water line) sticking out in the middle of the floor of a future finished space in the basement. PM told me that they will dig a trench and pull the line and make it flush to the wall so that th...

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA: Hurry up and wait....

http://palermohomebuilding.blogspot.com/2014/08/hurry-up-and-wait.html

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Hurry up and wait. We had our pre-settlement walk-through last Friday (8/1/14) and it went well. We had a few places where we put some blue tape where some touch ups were needed but otherwise the place look amazing. It was even fun to feel the heat coming off the fireplace despite the fact it's still summer. August 5, 2014 at 11:34 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The excitement is building! Building a Home in Culpeper, VA: April 2014

http://palermohomebuilding.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Thursday, April 24, 2014. And Then There Wasn't. A delay, that is. Well, maybe a little one, but not one that is going to affect our "Finish Date" :). I received a call today from our AWESOME salesperson, Becca, and we are on the list for construction to begin the week of 5/12 and our end date is still listed as 8/8. I saved us from having an eyesore in the yard (or having to get one of those "fake rock" covers for the thing.). Stark Bros...

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA: Better Late than Never.... On photos anyway....

http://palermohomebuilding.blogspot.com/2014/07/better-late-than-never-on-photos-anyway.html

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Better Late than Never. On photos anyway. Still no resolution to the mortgage company debacle. Stomach hurts from being in knots for the past 30 hours. As of now it is just "likely" that our closing date is not going to be the date the settlement company said that "would not change." We'll see. I am thinking of this:. The beautiful, wonderful double oven that will be installed. It only looks green because of ...

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA: Three Months In

http://palermohomebuilding.blogspot.com/2014/11/three-months-in.html

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Three Months. Three months! I simply cannot believe how fast time flies! And, after a flurry of homes all being completed seemingly at once, things are a little quiet in the neighborhood. I am still in the process of decorating - a process that will take about 15 more months (until tax return 2016 arrives), but I can already "see it" in my mind. Our 30 day post move in went well. LADIES! This is to you:. Update...

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. This photo was actually from last week. The foundation walls had been poured, but they were still in the forms drying. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. And the beat goes on. So far we are very happy with the communication level with the Ryan Builders. We have been kept up to date on a regular basis and feel we always know what is going on and why. I'm hoping that the financial side goes as smooth but we'll have to w...The f...

Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Saturday, August 16, 2014. The wait is over! We finally have a date (although only after I held firm on not pushing it back further). Tuesday afternoon (8/19) we will have our closing. finally. I'll still only believe it when it's done and the keys are in our hands but it's still a better feeling than what we have been going through the last 4 weeks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Building a Home in Culpeper, VA. Is a very, very, very fine house. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Moving forward. ever so slightly. Well things are still progressing. with the house if not with the mortgage. We still don't know when the closing will be as they are still trying to fix there snafu (unknown if they even can which could mean 1-2 extra weeks of waiting for closing). The grass, trees, shrubs, and mulch! If you zoom in close, you can even see the number on the house. which is wrong! And, the horrid.

The Road to Paradis(e)

The Road to Paradis(e). Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Day 74: Cannon Beach, Oregon: "Take That Turn". There's actually a really relevant idea from the world of videogames that I can use here. I gave up on trying to be conventionally cool a long time ago, so forgive me while I get a little geeky. I wanted to bike. You can understand my confusion when after only about 5 minutes of this I saw a sign marking the peak elevation for the pass. We snuck around the damn thing! But I suppose there's some satisfaction ...
