Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Back in June I was lucky enough to go on a trip with 23 amazing individuals to Tanzania through Soles4Souls. To distribute shoes to children in need. (You can read about it here. Most schools in Africa are lucky if they have one book per classroom. Can you imagine going to school and having to share one book with the entire class including the teacher? We have set up a fundraising website with the help of Soles4Souls and we even have a name! Friday, July 22, 2011. I have really been slacking on the blog posts but I promise I'll get back at it soon! For now here's a few things I've been doing over the past couple of weeks! Went to the July Underground Dinner. So it was really fun! We even all went to dinner the next week at Stellina (my favorite! And we're all going to the underground dessert thing next week. People always ask me why I like Twitter and that's exactly why! It's a great place to meet people who have the same interests as you!

Sunday, June 26, 2011. Cookie Dough Egg Rolls. While I was in Africa I was lucky enough to purchase some handmade goods from some of the mothers of the children at one of the schools we visited. They were so happy to make some money and we were so happy to buy their things. One of the things I bought was this awesome apron:. Here is the recipe I use:. 1 stick of butter or margarine. 1/2 c brown sugar. 1/2 c white sugar. 1 tsp Vanilla extract. 1 1/8 c flour. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1 pkg egg roll wrappers.
