Upon the Pale Sands – Roar and Thunder

http://roarandthunder.com.au/2015/upon-the-pale-sands

On the Nightwire ». Upon the Pale Sands. The storm roared through a bottomless mouth. Sand tore through the city square and rattled over cracked stones. Squinting, Saul drew his hood low. His flesh burned with sick fire. He pushed on, ignoring the blisters in his feet, toward the doorway fading in and out of sight ahead. Yet despite his doubts and fears he pressed on. He focused on the open door ahead, flickering in and out of the storm. The promise of shelter. The wind changed direction, and he felt the...

http://dacairns.blogspot.com/2015/07/celebrate-small-things-words.html

Friday, July 17, 2015. Celebrate the Small Things: Words. Today's blog is brought to you by the letter 'F'. (Hats off to Sesame Street - what a great show! In the A-Z Blogging Challenge, each day began with a letter and the opportunity to choose any word beginning with that letter, or any theme, and write about it. Yesterday I wrote another chapter in the first draft of what will be my fifth novel. Chapter 37 contains these words: Did she love Angus? Did she want him back? Labels: a muddy red river.

Friday, June 26, 2015. Celebrate the Small Things: Hugs. This may cause some discussion amongst readers. Is a hug a small thing? Last Sunday night we had a family farewell dinner for my son who was. Have you had a nice hug lately? Http:/ www.desicomments.com/desi/hug-day/page/3/. June 26, 2015 at 5:08 PM. It sounds like you and your son have a great relationship, and hes on his own doing well. My kids are still around, so hugs are like daily medicine. Cant live without them :). July 9, 2015 at 2:47 PM.

Monday, March 23, 2015. A-Z Challenge 2015 theme reveal. The A-Z of what's wrong with me? That neat little rhyme doesn't even work in Australia because we say 'zed' not 'zee') On the Switchfoot. They have a track called Mess of Me. Thinking of this song tempts me greatly, in light of very recent events, to really have a crack at the A-Z of what's wrong with me. For sure I have at least 26 faults, probably more depending on who you talk to. Labels: A-Z blogging challenge. Sunday, March 22, 2015. For crick...

Sunday, August 31, 2014. Readers seem to like to read about the same character, doing the same basic thing in a variety of settings or situations. I might say more about book series another time but this is a W.A.S. 3200 words were added to the first draft of my W.I.P. on Saturday which I was very pleased with considering the circumstances which led me to write yesterday's post about boxes. I'll be attempting to close a few boxes today and store them away. What do you have planned? The search for solutio...

.Square Pegs: Celebrate the Small Things: In Praise of Beanies

http://dacairns.blogspot.com/2015/06/celebrate-small-things-in-praise-of.html

Friday, June 19, 2015. Celebrate the Small Things: In Praise of Beanies. It's winter in Australia,. And that means beanie time. I have very little hair, in fact I appear totally bald from the front, so cold air and my naked cranium do not mix well. So today, I am giving thanks for beanies and the great job they do to protect heads, both hairy and hairless, all over the world, from the unfriendly, occasionally hostile cold air. Three cheers for beanies. Do you have a favourite one? June 19, 2015 at 7:08 AM.

.Square Pegs: Celebrate the Small Things: Shoelaces

http://dacairns.blogspot.com/2015/07/celebrate-small-things-shoelaces.html

Friday, July 24, 2015. Celebrate the Small Things: Shoelaces. Today I had occasion to hurriedly remove my shoes, and I did so without undoing the laces. To my credit, I did undo them before I put the shoes back on, and then re tied them. That's what you're supposed to do with them. They're a very old idea actually. Thousands of years before Christ men were lacing up, and although shoes have taken on all manner of weird and wonderful forms, the laces with which we tie them haven't changed much at all.
