The Porter House: 'twas the night before Surgery...
http://theporterhouse2005.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-night-before-surgery.html
Monday, April 8, 2013. Twas the night before Surgery. Last night we let Caden choose anything he wanted for dinner last night, so we headed to Applebee's. . He was about halfway through dinner when he decided that we would also need a little dessert, so we headed over to Bop's for some ice cream and a cookie. . Then we dropped Grayson at my parents house and headed home for the night. . I made sure to get a pre-incision picture of his chest. . And then he wanted to "pose.". God is so good! Let me be Frank.

Tuesday, April 16, 2013. We went into the clinic today for Caden's post-op check-up. We had chest x-rays, an echo, an EKG, and he got the stitches from his chest tubes removed. All news was great! Everything looked very very good. We could simply not be happier! I will say it again.God is SO Good! Of course, waiting rooms are always a good place for the DS. Santa made a good choice with this item (even if he didn't know how good of a choice at the time! Photo cred: Blair Batson Children's Hospital FB.

The Porter House: September 2011

Sunday, September 18, 2011. After a very short career in T-Ball, we decided it was time to give Rec Sports another try. Yesterday was Caden’s first Soccer game, and it was hilarious! 160; Our team had only had a total of 20 minutes of practice before our first game, so I think there are still some fundamentals to cover. For example…you are actually trying to kick the ball towards the goal. I think a good time was had by all, and that is all that matters! Then second quarter was time for action…. As I ...

The Porter House: February 2013

Monday, February 18, 2013. We really are still here. I have to laugh when I look at those babies in the header pic on this page. That pic is nearly 5 years old, but I just can't bring myself to change those baby faces! Maybe I'll work up the courage one day soon! I wanted to go ahead and get back into blogging because the Porter House has some big things on the horizon, and I thought this would be a great way to keep everyone posted. First things first, here's a pic that's not 5 years old.ha! Life 2 busy...

The Porter House: October 2011

Saturday, October 15, 2011. After Community Helper day, we picked up C from school and headed to the Fair. The boys look forward to it every year. My parents met us there for an afternoon of fun. Paul and Anna stopped in for lunch as well. It is so nice that the boys are both tall enough to ride most of the kiddie rides without an adult…it certainly allows us to stay at the fair longer! 160; Rides just aren’t as fun as they used to be…especially those which are constructed in a day or two. G’s p...

The Porter House: Movin' on up...
http://theporterhouse2005.blogspot.com/2013/04/movin-on-up.html
Wednesday, April 10, 2013. After lunch on Tuesday, Caden was able to sit up in a chair for a while in the ICU and have a Popsicle. . Yes, that child was dependent on a ventilator just 12 hours earlier! 160;Amazing. Then we had him walk 2 laps around the ICU. Not long after that, they were moving us up to the surgical step down unit. YEA! 160;He watched a little television and played with the game system in the room and he was back to sleep again. . We had to start walking the halls again today. . I recen...

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. This post may seem strikingly similar to last year's birthday party post, and it is. The boys LOVE Pump it Up. So we're just gonna go with it. This year we had the party late since Frank was gone to SC from January-mid April. We certainly wanted Daddy there for the party! I think a good time was had by all. Here is Grayson going into the obstacle course. Justin and Molly.(she is basically his "mini-me"). We love this little girl! Snacks for the grown ups. Sunday, April 24, 2011.

The Porter House: May 2011

Friday, May 13, 2011. If you listen VERY closely, you can hear these sweet babies saying the Lord's Prayer. Too precious! Look at those precious graduates! I cannot believe that C is now a preschool graduate * tear* . They had the sweetest little graduation ceremony. The kiddos all recited the Lord's Prayer along with several Bible verses. It was really precious! Almost C's turn to go and get his diploma. He TOOK OFF as soon as they called his name. I wonder if she will go to Kindergarten with us. View m...
