Canada Impressions: I want to ride my bicycle...
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-want-to-ride-my-bicycle.html
Saturday, July 16, 2011. I want to ride my bicycle. In April I started riding my bike to work again. It was part of my personal commuter challenge to live what I preach as part of my job. One way is about 11km; a good distance to wake up in the morning and unwind after work. I haven't regretted my decision one second; my commute is just wonderful and much more enjoyable than taking the bus. Just noticed that I took almost the same photo last September. It's still one of my favourite parts of the route.

Canada Impressions: The world's largest tepee
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2011/07/worlds-largest-tepee.html
Thursday, July 21, 2011. The world's largest tepee. On our way to Winnipeg we stopped in Medicine Hat. Funny name I thought and did some research. When the first people settled down in Medicine Hat there were lots of birds which feathers were used by the Native people's medicine man for their hats. That's how the town got its name. The round plates of the tepee are paintings by local artists that express the culture of the Aboriginal people and their ways of life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Canada Impressions: Beautiful commute
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2010/12/beautiful-commute.html
Sunday, December 12, 2010. In September I started cycling to work. My commute goes mainly along Elbow River and through a few parks. A beautiful start into the day - and I am even faster than by bus. However, during winter I probably leave my bike at home. The pathways are not all plowed and I don't trust myself on the one steep hill down to the river. Rather don't take a ice bath :-). This little bunny was sitting beside the pathway trying to become invisible. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Canada Impressions: February 2011
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 24, 2011. The week before Christmas we went on another trip with Sierra Club Chinook Group. The outings are a great way for us to get out of town and enjoy some time in nature. This time was our first snowshoe trip. Nic and I haven't done snowshoeing before and I wasn't sure if it was good to lead the trip without any experience. It is really easy and essentially just like walking with different shoes. Monday, February 21, 2011. Sunday, February 06, 2011. Ye Olde Y Holiday Party. North...

Blog ThJa: Kurzurlaub an der Ostsee
http://thjablog.blogspot.com/2012/03/kurzurlaub-der-ostsee.html
Dienstag, 6.

Canada Impressions: August 2011
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 05, 2011. Well, I wanted to keep you entertained with our trip to Winnipeg. There is still lots to tell. Anyhow, here is today's photo from Calgary:. Yes, that is hail. After a bright, sunny August day we start the weekend with golfball-sized hail. I still can't believe it - hail in August. The tomato plants in the backyard of my office building are mushed, all foliage has been stripped off by the hail. Thank goodness we don't have a greenhouse yet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Canada Impressions: Transformation
http://tiniandnic.blogspot.com/2011/07/transformation.html
Sunday, July 03, 2011. Buildings in Canada still amaze us. Most of them have a wooden core even if they look like a brick building. Here is one in our neighbourhood that was just started last year and is now almost finished. The front of the building. The same building now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
