Because of its durability in dealing with the elements, concrete is excellent for outdoor projects. A concrete trough sits behind a backrest for a seating area. A triangle water container collects water that overflows into a small water canal. A seven foot tall fountain with water flowing evenly on both sides. Hidden lights under the top piece bring attention to the fountain in the evening. Here, a courtyard fountain with left over tiles inserted on the sides give the fountain a Southwestern feel.

While most people might not consider concrete a likely element in furniture, it can, in fact, work very well either alone or with other elements like wood and glass to create unique, custom furniture. Concrete on concrete. Very bold, sometimes concrete on concrete has the appropriate feel for its surroundings. Concrete on concrete, yet slightly less bold and more stylish with angled legs. Here, concrete plays a smaller, but important, role as the support for a wooden cabinet.

Here is a large angled fireplace with a suspended middle piece. A hearth with an apron and a simple fireplace surround enhances the fireplace as a whole. With good design and planning, concrete countertops can be made the proper color, finish, and shape to coincide with surrounding elements (cabinets, sinks, backsplashes, etc.) to create the desired atmosphere for the client. This kitchen countertop has contrasting finishes: the counter against the wall and the majority of the island are polished while the concrete under the tear-shaped glass has been ground down to show aggregate.
