popurrock: April 2008
http://popurrock.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 21, 2008. Rain on my parade. Bad news: I can't attend Coachella on Friday. I thought I would be able to request the day off, but it seems like I cannot.higher powers are keeping me there. I shall sit and be very spiteful all day. I shall even be spiteful when I win the big TV at the end of the event raffle. Good news: Well none really. Oh, I guess the good news will be the ginormous TV that I better win in exchange for missing the following bands:. Thursday, April 17, 2008. I have no contro...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. I am not a Trekkie. My fingers just can't do the Vulcan salute. And just to prove how NON Trekkie I am, I had to google that. I call it "Star Trek high five your face."). But guess who's super geeked to see Star Trek for free next week? Most people I talk to aren't very stoked about the movie but I can't help but feel the tingles when I hear buzz about it. Why so excited? Why of all people is he my celebrity crush? Oh, and he did this band thing. Who is Vincent Chin? On Angry As...

Cold War Kids - Loyalty to Loyalty. More updates on the good/bad later. I'm still working on a list of tunes I listened to frequently in 2008. You Ain't No Picasso.

popurrock: Costa Rica Blog - Day 10
http://popurrock.blogspot.com/2009/02/blog-post.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Costa Rica Blog - Day 10. A typical Costa Rican dish served in pretty much all sodas (mom and pop cafes) and is usually what's for lunch. The dish supposedly. Earned its moniker " Casado. Meaning "marriage," because it was what wives used to pack for their husbands to go to work. A typical Casado includes: rice, beans, cabbage salad, fried plantain, meat (chicken, steak or fish), picadillo (diced cooked veggies) and maybe an egg. Sounds hearty? February 25, 2009 at 2:22 PM.

popurrock: 17 Years
http://popurrock.blogspot.com/2009/04/17-years.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Have 17 years already gone by since the LA Riots? I came across this post. On Angry Asian Man today and for a few minutes I really was in disbelief that time had gone by so quickly. My memories of the LA Riots. Let's just say it's still a work in progress. Today we take the time to remember that day in hopes that it will not repeat in the future. And let's eat some korean tacos while we're at it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). popurrock: Costa Rica Blog - Day 7 & 8
http://popurrock.blogspot.com/2009/02/costa-rica-blog-day-9.html
Monday, February 23, 2009. Costa Rica Blog - Day 7 and 8. The lack of internet and lack of urgency to use any technology this past weekend is my reason for posting only until now. Two days of clear blue water, soft white sandy beaches, dense vegetation and intense sunshine can do that to you. In anycase, my family spoiled me by meeting my request and planned a trip to Punta Leona, where my great-aunt "Gu Po" or simply "Tia Rosa," owns a beach house and is a shareholder/country club member. At "La Playa B...

popurrock: March 2009
http://popurrock.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Ana Gabriel - One of us! On my last Friday in Costa Rica, Wendy took us out to eat tapas at Terra y Mar. While we were enjoying our meal, a flat screen TV tucked into the corner of the restaurant seranaded us with the recorded performances of Los Bukis, The BeeGees and Ana Gabriel. As we chatted about Ana Gabriel's old hits, little did I know that we were talking about one of our very own! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. El Bueno, El Malo, y El Feo.
