Retirement From Where I Sit. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. This past weekend, March 6. 2015, I attended the 9. International Writers Conference held at the Los Mangos Library, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The theme of this gathering was “Leaving Our Mark…Awakening More than Memoir.”. Unfortunately, from my perspective, the major presentations totally missed the mark of their subject matter and I wasn´t able to add significantly to my knowledge in writing a memoir. Retirement From Where I Sit. Monday, July 22, 2013. Summering in Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, MX. Late in July, 11:30 AM –. I am sitting at my desk, clad in a pair of plaid shorts and flip flops, a clip-on fan is noisily pushing cool air past my face, the veranda door is completely open, to an overcast sky foretelling more rain this day. Current temperature is 82 degrees F (feels like 90), humidity 79% with a 40% chance of rain – in other words a normal early summertime day. The following i...

Retirement From Where I Sit. Monday, January 12, 2015. 8220;What’s the Allure here”…? Several weeks ago I was relaxing at a new location on Los Muertos Beach enjoying a refresca and watching the local people frolicking on the beach in beautiful 80 degree weather, and I heard a voice asking the question “what´s the allure here? The questioner went on to explain that she had just arrived in Puerto Vallarta and was on her first trip to Mexico. However, that comment kept repeating itself in my memory and cau...

http://robertosveranda.blogspot.com/2015/07/it-is-what-it-is.html
Retirement From Where I Sit. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. It Is What It Is! It’s been a different type of summer in Puerto Vallarta. The summer rainy season seems to have just gotten underway the past two weeks, finally cooling the late night/early morning temperatures into the high 70´s (76-78). However, daytime temps are still reaching the low 90´s F with “Feels Like” temps of up to 118F. The swimming pool feels like a bathtub, but, it´s wet! VIVA PILITAS I and II…! It is nice being in PV at this time.
